Broken Without You

CHAPTER • 1

Just like any other day my alarm went off at 6am.

I got out of my comforter and went to take a shower, after the shower I walked into my closet to pick my outfit for the day and I decided to wear a top with a  skirt which hugged my curve perfectly and a blazer to finish the look with black heels.

After I was done with the make-up and hair I went into the kitchen to have my breakfast

"Good morning Miss Rose" Stella my house help greeted me.

She's been working here for 3 years now and is the sweetest and the kindest woman I've ever met, she's in her late 40s.
"Good morning Stella, and how many times have I told you to call me Ella  not Miss Rose"

"Sorry mis- umm Ella I'll keep that in mind" she corrected herself

"Okay, so what's there for breakfast today!!!" I asked very excitedly and you can't blame me because the food she cooks is so delicious!

I can't resist the child in me to not come out when it comes to food.

"Today I've made your favourite pancakes with chocolate syrup!" she said

"I can't wait!!!"

After finishing my breakfast and waving goodbye to Stella I head off to firm.

I've been working in this firm for 3 years now one year under my senior and then I became the partner of this firm with 2 others. Steven and Melanie; my partners.

Melanie takes care of criminal cases
Steven takes care of civil cases such as matters related to land and all
And I on the other hand takes care of corporate matters.

When I exited the lift, I saw my assistant talking on the phone.

She stood up and cut the phone.
"Good morning maam"

"Good morning Amelia "

"please get my coffee on my table along with my meeting schedule for today" I said and went straight into my office

"Yes ma'am" she replied

When I entered my office I placed my blazer on the armrest of my couch.

And started going through the paper work for one of my client.

After going thoroughly through the paper I heard a knock on the door

"Come in" I answered

Amelia came in with coffee

"Maam I have mailed you your schedule for today's meetings"

"Thank you" she left the room

I scroll through my phone to check if there is any new policy which is introduced by the government, this is a habit that I have developed over the years just to keep myself updated on the current affairs while drinking coffee.

After checking the news I checked my mail and meetings, one of them was with a new client at 1 pm and it's my first meeting so till then I'm free.

My phone rang and it was A Group FaceTime with my besties Aria,Layla and Chloe; I answered the call

"Bitches!!!!" I exclaimed

"Helloww" they exclaimed

Layla was with a face mask which made her unable to move, Aria was sitting with her glasses on and Chloe was in her clinic.

"Listen there's a reason I've called you guys!!!!"chloe said

"Okay so today be ready and we will be going to the new bar which just opened last week"
