Dinner was dismissed and Eris found herself not wanting to go back to the dormitories. Eris decided to wander through the corridors for a little bit because she didn't want to waste her time dealing with the pompous assholes surrounding her.

The halls were dark, a serenity surrounded Eris as she wandered aimlessly. It was the calm before the storm. She knew that this new Umbridge lady would make her life a living hell, well even more than it already is, but those are obstacles to come. Right now, Eris needs to enjoy the peace, she knows in the next couple years there won't be much.

Disrupting the tranquilent atmosphere Eris created, she heard quickly paced footsteps and the yells of Filch. Two lanky gingers rush past her, and something in Eris' head tells her she needs to follow them, so she won't be caught after hours. Breaking into a sprint, she looks for the nearest closet in the hall, not realizing that the twins were now the ones following her.

Eris presses her back against the wall and almost knocks over a broom. The girl was out of breath, as she was not used to running that fast. Soon one of the red haired boys stumbles into the closet, putting a finger up to his mouth silently making the "shh" noise (without actually making any noise). The two stand in silence for approximately five minutes. Eris examines his features, she notices the freckles painting his face, but mostly his brown eyes. Somewhere she read that brown eyes on a ginger or blonde were a mutation, and that sort of thing fascinated her.

The singular Weasley twin lets out a gasp and whispers,

"I think it's ok to talk now..." Eris just replies with a nod. "...so, uh, how was your day I guess?" the boy asks, trying to make conversation.

"Shitty. Sorry, but before this escalates, which one are you?"

"The one.... No but I'm Fred. You are?"
"Eris."

"But I'm sorry your day was bad."

Eris appreciated those words, he didn't need to say them, but it was nice to hear. It took her a second to reply because she was slightly shocked that someone who didn't know her, could actually care.

"Thanks, but you don't need to apologize. It's not your fault."

"I think we're safe to go now," Fred said as he lifted himself from the wall he was leaning on, and opened the door waiting for Eris to walk out. The simple act was so small, but so kind in Eris' mind. Weirdly, this made her want to befriend him (and his brother since it seemed they were a package deal). She didn't know him, but now she wanted to, she was friendless at the moment, so what harm could it do.

"Thanks, uh, I guess I'll see you around," Eris told him as she walked in the way of the Ravenclaw dormitories.

"Yeah bye, I hope tomorrow's a better day for you," he replied with a slight laugh. But it wasn't condescending, it was genuine, wholehearted, awkwardness.

Eris walked to her common room with a trace of a smile on her face. It astounded her that someone who puts up a front that appears to be "cool" or "popular" is just really sweet. Eris found it quite wholesome because too many people she knew would appear that way and just act rude and like they were better.

Eris found herself sneaking into her room that night, desperately trying to be as quiet as possible, creeping through trying to find her pajamas in the dark. Every noise she made seemed to be accented now that she wasn't supposed to be making them. Cece started to stir and looked up and saw Eris slouched over a dresser. It was a very awkward position for Eris to be "caught" in, and to try to relieve the tension she gave a loose smile.

"Would you shut the fuck up?" Cece mumbled.

The Malacoda girl just rolled her eyes, and ever so slightly accented her movements. Cece laid back down, and Eris found her way to her bed, absorbing herself in the fresh linens attempting to sleep. Her thoughts were racing though; she didn't want this. She wanted to sleep well, and get up feeling refreshed for her first day of classes. But her mind was plotting how to become friends with the Weasley twins without seeming like she was trying too hard. Yes, Eris was the dork to create plans like this and think about them until three in the morning, but did it always work out? Yes. And at some point, Eris felt her eyes grow heavy and her muscles relax, as she fell asleep.
