(Lillith)
People await dinner time for the food, but Lilly has other reasons. In the royal castle, it can be pretty busy for the royal family, that Lilly only gets to see her parents and brothers once a day.
"It's dinner time!" She exclaims as she gets up from the bed she was lying on. She puts on her most comfortable pink heels, turns to the mirror, adjusts her hair, adds a touch of blush on her cheek and light red lipstick on her lips, and leaves her chambers.
She arrives at the extravagant family dining room first. Followed by Reginald, her youngest brother, her mother, then Arden, her oldest brother, and lastly her father. As soon as everyone has settled, the maids start delivering the dishes. Everyone eats in silence for a couple of minutes, and as always- Reginald breaks the silence.
"You all better talk or I'll puke my dinner on the floor, etiquette aside." He says as he takes a sip from the glass of water.
"Regi, if you want to puke, please do so away from me." Lilly says as she takes a bite from the roasted beef on her plate, Reginald chuckles as their father sets down his fork, and clears his throat.
"It worked," he winks at her as her father starts speaking.
"Arden, I wanted to discuss matters with you, concerning our position and fate of our kingdom," father says as he turns to face Arden on his left, "you're 18 now and you're soon to be king, so it is crucial for you to find a bride."
Arden sighs as he sets down his fork, "Yes, father."
"I shall prepare a ball then and send letters to all noble ladies eligible for marriage."
"Father, I have a suggestion."
"talk son."
"can we make it a masquerade ball, but we won't announce to the public that it's to find as bride but to celebrate my eighteenth birthday?"
"Why would you want that, son?"
"so, I marry a woman by her personality not looks."
"very well son, I'll make sure of that."
"How about we stop talking about Arden's love life and talk about mine?" Reginald says as he clears his throat, "I've met this gi-"
Everyone ignores Regis as the queen clears her throat, "Arden dear, I think it would be better to start the marriage interviews with the Corvus ducal family, they have two beautiful ladies. Your assistant, Darlene is quite beautiful, as well as dedicated to her work. What do you think of her?"
"I've only met her in work, I cannot judge her."
"That is his way of saying he doesn't like her, mother," Reginald says as he fakes a yawn, "dang it, time to sleep. Goodnight father, mother. Good night Arden, Goodnight-"
"No wait, I'm coming with you, I want to tell you something," Lilly cuts him off as gets up from her seat, "Excuse me, mother, father."
As soon as they leave the dining hall, she grabs his hand and leads him toward the royal garden, he looks at her quizzically, but follows silently. As soon as they reach the garden, his curiosity gets the better of him."What is-" he starts but she cuts him off.
"Regi, tomorrow I will have to pick my personal guard, but I do not want to pick someone who'll bore me to death, but I also don't want someone to not be able to protect me." Lilly abruptly says and follows with, "and I don't want to have a male guard because I do not want a man to follow me wherever I go, because that's creepy and makes me uncomfortable. And Arden is busy all the time and I have no one to ask for advice but you. I don't know what to do Regi." She rants swiftly, and then covers her face with her hands while on the verge of tears.
"Wow, that was one hell of a confession," he chuckles before turning serious, "I don't want to break your high hopes but then, I don't have a personal guard nor am I a girl to help you. You're asking a very not-so-wise person for advice, but here's what I think anyway. When you pick tomorrow, just use your heart not head. Pick a girl guard if there's any and pick her with your heart, like you're picking a friend."
"Yes, but a friend with weapons. Anyway, thanks a lot Regi, you made me feel better," she kisses him on the cheek and turns to leave, "goodnight!"
