A/N: Happy Pride Month🏳️‍🌈🥳!! I like how my birthday is in June too, so it's ironic. So, you know how I said the last chapter is my current favorite? Well...this one might be a close competitor. I'm dedicating this chapter to @snow_velez8. This is one of my favorite episodes of season 4, and I had already been thinking of plans for it, and I'm so glad to see it written and I hope you love it. I really wanted to make a cover photo for this chapter, and I did, but I don't like it. It's giving me very much, meh, so instead, I uploaded a photo of who I imagine to be Michael. I hope you guys enjoy and thanks for the continual support of the story😊! It means a lot!

"You want me to do what?" I ask Gabriel again making sure I'm understanding this right.

He regards me with an apprehensive stare. "I need you to look after a young boy of a client of mine for today."

"Yeah, that's what I thought you said." I shake my head and sigh. "Gabriel, I don't get paid to babysit kids I don't know. Why are you asking me of all people to do this?"

"Look, this case is a custody battle. The judge has determined that until the case is resolved, which it will be today I promise, the kid needs to be supervised by a neutral party." He explains.

"Why can't you hand the case over to another lawyer? Aren't you busy with Julien's stuff?"

"I wish I could hand it over, but this is one of my mandatory pro-bono cases I have to complete. Ambrose, I know I'm asking you to do me a favor, which I would prefer not to, but you're the only one I can think of to handle this."

"Why?" I raise my eyebrow.

"Because...you know...you have that..." He waves his hand at me.

"I have what?" I ask, hoping he will elaborate.

"That instinct stuff. You're probably good with children and you just don't know it."

"So, because I have good instincts, you think I'm good with children?"

He sighs and I can tell I'm really making it hard for him.

"I mean, he's never asked you for a favor like this before. You might as well help him out." Kai says appearing out of nowhere. "Besides, if you do this, he might be inclined to help you out later, if you need it."

I think it over. With that logic in mind, I might as well agree. "Okay, Gabriel, but don't say I didn't warn you because I'm not good with kids."

"Thank you. I'll call you as soon as he's needed back in court." He bends down and presses a button on his office phone. "Julie? Send in Michael, please."

"Okay, sir," Julie tells him and hangs up.

"Again. I can't thank you enough." Gabriel tells me.

"Your welcome. To be honest, though, I don't know how I'm going to keep..." I forget the name of the boy just as quickly as I heard it.

"Michael." Gabriel fills in the blank.

"Entertained." I finish.

"You'll do fine. Just take him to do whatever kids like to do these days." We hear a knock on the door. "Come in."

A young boy comes in. He looks to be eleven or twelve if I had to guess. He's got a warm beige skin tone, curly hair like mine, and strangely, grey eyes. Though, they might be a light green. It's hard to tell with the sunlight. He's wearing blue jeans and a navy blue polo shirt and white sneakers.

He notices me appraising him and turns and looks away from me. Judging by his body language, he does not want to be here.

"Michael, this is a good friend of mine, Ambrose." Gabriel introduces us. I give Gabriel a look when he says good friend because he knows as well as I do that "good friends" would not be the term to describe us. "He's going to look after you today for me until court is back in session."
