Everything was everything. Nothing was nothing. Everything was nothing. As Hinata stared at the mirror placed evenly in their bathroom, the small fetus he imagined in his stomach made him turn. It disgusted him that something that small was growing inside him. The ginger cried, unable to hold back. He would do anything to get rid of it, but the excitement his husband seemed to show towards it stopped him. If only Shoyo felt the same as Tobio did.
Approximately two days after the pregnancy had been confirmed was when things went downhill. Shoyo caved in to himself, turned to something he wasn't. Kageyama watched from a distance, blinded of the change like a wall. The ravenette's main focus was towards his baby. Not their baby, his baby.
Through everything, the only person Hinata hadn't basically shut off was his husband. Part of it being because they lived together in their unnecessary large house or how they shared a bed, bug mainly it was because no mater what universe nor planet they were in, they stood side by side forever. It was the fact that Hinata would and could never leave the man he loved. Even if Kageyama stopped him from being able to play volleyball or killed a cat, his heart would always belong to Tobio. Forever and always.
Late at night, when both came home from practice, Kageyama prepared dinner whilst Hinata took a long shower, going over how he felt. The ginger eased into the feeling of the warmth the water gave him, an easy smile plastering on his face. Then, he remembered what was in him. Shoyo looked down at his flat stomach, thumbing over where the fetus was. A disgusted look replaced his smile.
Downstairs, Tobio finished off the mac and cheese his husband so desperately wanted. Putting a decent severing onto plates, he brought the dishes to the living room and put the tv on. When Hinata came downstairs and sat next to the other boy, starting to eat his food, Kageyama noticed the scare on his wrist that wasn't there last night. Carefully, the lankier one put away his food and grabbed onto Shoyo's wrist. He examined the scar as Shoyo tried to pull away the hand Tobio took.
Blue eyes met cognac eyes. Tears swelled in the shorter boys sight. With instinct, Tobio swallowed his beautiful husband in a deadening hug. Hinata cried into him, unable to control himself. So many words were spoken without.... being spoken? Their minds connected like one, exchanging so many words and love. They understood each other, knew what the other felt.
"Wh-why" the taller stuttered, still holding his Shoy.
"I- well. I'm sorry, everything's just so stressful," he cried more. Kageyama pulled him in closer, welcoming him with open arms.
"Don't be sorry. You have nothing to be sorry for. You're so beautiful, I love you so much," with a kiss on the gingers head, they ended up falling asleep together on the couch, food untouched.
...
Hinata always wanted kids. Even when he was nineteen when he and Kageyama first fell in love. The thought of sharing a soul with him filled every aspect with glee, but now, as both he and Tobio are in the big leagues and have no time for kids, everything he ever wanted is now something he doesn't want. Not only because he wasn't willing to sacrifice his job for the fetus, but also because he was too young. He's not even in his middle 20's.
Oikawa and Iwaizumi, Tsukishima and Yamaguchi, they both had children before 22. He couldn't understand how. At the time, he envied them, wanted nothing more than to have what they had. Why?
Kageyama grabbed Hinata's hand securely as he drove Hinata to Kenma and Kuroo's house. Hinata gave his husband a loving smile, the raven causing a bundle of knots to form in the gingers stomach from how beautiful he was.
When they arrived, Tobio kissed Shoy goodbye then was off to practice. Shoyo walked up to their front door, not even needing to knock. He walked in to find a pudding hair boy trying to even out a picture on the wall.
"Hi Shoyo," Kenma said, receiving a hug. They both sank into the hug, finding comfort and reassurance in each other. "How've you been? Haven't heard much from you since the wedding," Kenma continued, leading them both towards the unnecessarily large living room. Kuroo got a large income from where he worked and provided a good supply for Kozume.
"Yeah, fine," Hinata said, earning a look from the other boy as if he said he just swam with sharks or slept on ice.
"Are you... pregnant?" that's when the shorter realized he was holding his stomach. The strange thing was, he never held his stomach unless he was examining it. And now at eight weeks, he could feel the tiniest of changes in his body.
"I- well, it was an accident," Kozume knew. With both of them being carriers, they understood each other.
"I, I don't want it, but I should right? I'm a twenty four year old man whose financially stable, has a home, a healthy marriage, but I can't seem to give up my job which I love more than myself for a fetus I can't even feel yet," Hinata came to the truth, finally telling someone how he actually felt. It felt good, it felt really good. The best part was, his best friend reacted better than anyone else would've. He understood, and hugged him and that was all Shoyo needed.
"So, coffee or tea? There's also some coke if you want?" Kenma said in the end, slipping off the couch.
"Coke would be great, thanks," he replied. They ended up snuggling in the sofa like two omegas. They watched a bunch of things on YouTube until Kuroo came home, being very obvious about his presence.
"Hey Kitten," Tetsuro kissed the top of his fiancé's head before greeting the other guest.
"I should probably head off now, Tobi will be home soon and I've got practice tomorrow," Shoyo said goodbye to the rooster head who just got back then walked outside with Kozume. Kozume offered to drop him off home which Hinata gracefully accepted.
When he got home, he went straight to the kitchen. He thought about beginning dinner, not feeling much of an apatite. Oo, but chocolate ice cream with lemon, cheese and pickles sounded really good at the moment. There was no regret. He ate it like his life depended on it.
It was five thirty, just before Tobio got home. A wave of nausea washed over Hinata like a tidal wave. Within a click, he was in the bathroom, throwing away what he just ate. Not often did the ginger get morning sickness, he was lucky. Obviously not now as he threw up what now sounds like a horrible idea. He had no idea why he did that.
"You know I hate pickles, why would you make me eat that," wait. Hinata let go of his stomach whom he just spoke to, standing up and flushing the toilet. Quickly, the minty smell of the toothpaste replaced the rank smell from before. Did he really just speak to the tiny thing that was barely a fetus.
