Kanao's POV

"Wow the clouds look so pretty!" I said as I was looking up at the sky. I should've payed more attention to where I was walking, but a part of me doesn't regret it.

I bumped into someone.

"Oh, I'm so so sorry." I quickly said before the conversation escalated.

"It's oka-Kanao?" It was Nezuko.

"Oh yeah! Hey Nezuko!" I said.

"Hey now that you're here I was wondering if you wanted to go to the diner down the street?" She said.

"Oh yeah! I'm starving right now."

"Great!" She smiled.

"It's a date." I softly said, hopefully she didn't hear me.

We started walking over to it.

"Nezuko, you don't have to pay for me, I have some money."

"No! I refuse! I offered this dinner and I'll give you this dinner!" She said laughing.

I love her laugh, it's so calming.

We arrived.

"I'll have a chocolate milkshake with curly fries and BLT, no mayonnaise, thank you."

She wants curly fries! She's a keeper, wait I can't think that way about a girl!

"I'll take the cheeseburger with everything on it, a strawberry milkshake, and curly fries."

"Alright I'll be right back." The waitress replied.

"So how are your studies going, Kanao?"

"Well, I'm too of the class as usual. Since we haven't had any homework for 2 days I'm doing very well! What about you, Nezuko?"

"Horrible! This year I'm so close to surpassing you in the GPA! Wait that didn't come out the way I wanted it too." She put her finger on her chin and looked to the side.

"No no it's okay!" I laughed.

"Okay! Anyways we just got this huge ass science packet and I'm just about to give up."

"Is it the psychology one Mr. Tengen hands out?" I said raising one eyebrow.

"Yes!" She said with excessive hand movements.

"Knew it." I smiled.

We talked for around 20 minutes until our food arrived. We ate.

It was 4:50. After the check we started to go our own separate ways. I love the time I spend with her. I wish it could last an eternity. She's way more fun than Tanjiro.

I can't get her face out of my mind. I smiled the rest of the way home. I walked into my house and saw my sisters, Shinobu and Kanae. Shinobu is a teacher at the high school and Kanae is an assistant for sword making. We lived in a decent house, I mean we had more than enough food every night and we were happy, that's all that matters in my heart.

"So how was school Kanao?" Shinobu asked.

"It was amazing!" I said with a shine in my eyes.

"What's the difference? Yesterday you wanted to die!" Kanae added laughing.

"Well I met someone...." I said shyly.

"Welll......." Kanae said, very intrigued.

"Her name is Nezuko Kamado." I responded.

"Oh yeah! I know her." Shinobu shouted, "She's in my Math class. Too of her class. I talked to Mitsuri, her art teacher, and she is amazing at her studies."

"Wait really? That's impressive." I said.

"Wait! A. Minute." Kanae suddenly said, "This was exactly how Shinobu met Mitsuri... And now they're girlfriends!"

"Oh yeah!" Shinobu laughed.

"Not like that!" I said hiding my face in my hands.

After we were laughing and teasing my supposed "crush" on Nezuko I headed back to my room. I laid on my bed.

"What if I really do have a crush on her?" I said looking at my ceiling.

"Psh, I highly doubt she'd even like me back."

But there was something nagging at me. A thought.

'I would willingly spend my whole life with her. But isn't that just something normal that people think about their friends? Or was it really love.'

"Huh." I said while I was in the shower. That thought kept me up for many many minutes.

'BEEP BEEP BEEP BE-'

My 5:50 alarm. I usually just stayed in bed until 6:00 but today I was ready. I wanted to see Nezuko. Like really badly. I got dressed in a dark purple skirt with a white belt and a white shirt that had a bee embroidered on the top left. I put on my usual tan boots with a 1 inch heel to them. I brushed my hair into the usual side ponytail with the usual green butterfly clip.

I ate a granola bar and quickly left the house.

"I wonder which part of the neighborhood or even city she lives in." I said while looking at the floor while walking.

"Only 3 more days until summer." Today was just awards and a fun day so I was pretty neutral about the day. Until I saw her.

"Nezuko!"

She turned. I waved and when up to her.

"Hey!" I said.

"Oh hello Kanao!" She replied.

"Did you finish your science packet."

"Ugh. Yes! It was absolute Hell." She said wiping her forehead.

"Well I'm so happy you lived." I giggled.

"Same."

"So where do you have lunch? Or should I say which tree?" I asked.

"Oh the big cherry blossom that's on a slight hill! There are tons of butterflies there! I'm so excited to show you."

"Me too!" I pulled her into a hug.

"You give great hugs." She said. Nezuko is an inch taller than me. You would assume the taller one would give better hugs.

"Thanks Nezuko." I was at complete peace. I loved giving and receiving hugs....but...this hug was different. She was different
