Empty Hallways

After everything that happened, I spaced out. The first thing I knew when I woke up is that I was laying in a bed. The pain wasn't hurting too much, even though I felt dizzy.

I heard a knock and then someone entered the room. From the sound of the steps, it was a woman. Then there was a yell

''I have to see him!''

Simon sounded so hurt...

'' I already told you Mr. Snow, you are not allowed after you disturbed the infirmary yesterday ...also, stop yelling or I will have to bring the Mage-''

''BRING HIM! I don't care! Right now I just need to see...-''

''S-simon...'' Penelope's voice was low...and she was hardly huffing. I guess she've run all the way here.

''Simon, we should leave...'' Penelope's tone was serious '' I know you are worried about Baz... after the night in the forest... we all are, ok? But I'm sure we will be informed as soon as he's alright, so let's jus-''

''No...Penelope....NO! After the night in the forest, I just- it's because of me he got injured...'' he was crying, so heavily, it was hard to understand what he was saying '' He's been unconscious for the past 2 weeks, and these bloody nurses didn't even allowed me to see him once... I need to see him, please, PLEASE! I need him...he needs me...I-i can't like this anymore...'' his cry turned hysterical.

I wish I could have hugged him. Cry on his shoulder with him... I was the one who couldn't go like this...I was turning mad I got injured, I was mad he cared...

''Simon!'' I yelped. Everything stopped. I heard Simon's voice in the distance, but I didn't understand him. The door shut, and I felt two cold hands touching my checks. I realized I was crying.

''Please...I need him...'' I whispered because I couldn't talk properly.

''Oh-h. Sweety, you need to rest. You will be able to see your b-...friend when you'll get better. Till then...you are in good hands darling.''

Everything went numb.

A blinding light at the end of a hallway, and there, Simon. He was looking at me. And he was talking. But I couldn't hear him. Then, I just ran, ran, ran to him.

''-you knew it was going to be like this'' I suddenly stopped.

It was Simon's voice, but just like that night in the forest, it somehow wasn't his.

''There is no one else... huh, pathetic vampire. I cannot imagine how you thought I would be a vampire's friend, nevertheless, boyfriend?!'' My legs were shaky. I fell on my knees

''Please, let me explain...''My voice was cracking

''I don't want anything to do with you.'' Simon turned with his back. ''And one more thing... don't ever try to approach me again.

And that was it... he was gone, the lights turned off.

And I? I was running, trying, screaming and crying...  in the maze of my heart...

My love, the person I loved, he just... disappeared. I couldn't get to him.  He made it clear he wanted nothing to do with me.  But I wanted everything with him. I wanted to wake up every morning with him, to fall asleep in his arms, to be the reason for his happiness, to be his EVERYTHING!

It was all gone now...

I woke up crying and drowning in my own sweat. That was the moment I realized there was nothing for me to see, and even if there were, I could never.
