Adeline didn't stay in that house. It was the Black Estate, apparently, but still Arthur, Sirius and Remus all agreed it wasn't safe for her to stay. Adeline wasn't sure if they meant safe for her for the others. She'd fallen asleep eventually and slept through the night on the couch.

The next day, Arthur, Dean and herself set about London in the morning until they reach a small, poorly lit inn. Only, when they entered the ceilings were high, the furniture gold and the room brightly lit by a large chandelier. A House Elf greeted Dean as they passed and a woman with three eyes let them into the elevator.

Magic. This must be in an apartment for witches and wizards.

The elevator up was silent, if not for the hummingbirds singing in the walls. Adeline hoped they had more freedom than the confines of a lift shaft.

Eventually, they reached one of the top floors and Adeline followed them as they headed down corridor after hallway. They came to a stop once they reached a white door with the number 1736 on it. Adeline wondered how many residents they had.

When Dean took out a set of keys from his pocket and open the door Adeline's gaze tightened. They all walked in. The apartment was spacious upon entry. A large room with a floor-to-ceiling window that covered the right wall, all of London beneath them. To her left was a bare, clean kitchen. In front of her there was a couch and an armchair with a wooden coffee table between them, and behind the navy coloured couch was an eight seated dining table. The hallway was behind that, off the large window and lead to something she couldn't see you.

"You'll be staying here with Dean for the time. It may take a few days for everything to settle with the Order but-"

"No." Adeline abruptly turned to her uncle. "No, I'm not staying here with him."

She had known she wasn't going to return to Arthur's for quite some time when she left and she was okay with that. She didn't need any more reminders of Ryland. Staying with Dean wasn't what she had in mind though.

"You don't have a choice, Adeline," said Arthur. "This is the safest place for you. No one knows he exists, no one knows you'll be here."

She didn't know what he meant by that but she saw the look in Arthur's eyes. She couldn't argue with this. "Like I said it may take a few days for everything to settle with the Order but when it does I will come to collect you. Your belongings were sent, they should be in your room. If you need anything, let Rowans know and we'll sort it out." Arthur hugged her. "I'll be back in a few days." He promised and then stepped back.

He turned to Dean. "Rowans, I'll expect two phone calls a day. Remember what we spoke about."

And then he was gone.

Dean looked like a soldier until the door shut then he slouched just slightly. He turned to her, hands behind his back.

Adeline scowled him. "Don't talk to me."
