Five years apart Wanda x Reader

It's been a long time since you've been home, five years, since you left your whole life behind to protect one girl in particular. Five years ago, you'd been informed there was people in HYDRA after you, they wanted you dead and collateral damage was nothing they were concerned about.

You'd feared what would happen to her if you stayed, had you not left she could be dead, but you did leave, and she is very much alive. As are you, last week you found the men after you, shot them dead and now, after five years of hiding it was time to go home.

You walked into the compound, it was quite and empty, there was faint chatter coming from a room down a hall.

As you go closer you could make out the voices of your family, not the biological kind, it was a common theme among yourself and the avengers that nobody really had a family. You walked through the door, opening it quietly, nobody even noticed you were there.

You scanned the room left to right, up and down, things were different, so very different to how you had left things.

To start there was Natasha sitting on the sofa with Bruce's arm round her back. A child, who's child you weren't to sure of, there were a few new faces you hadn't seen before, or maybe you had and just forgot.

Pepper was giving Tony a death glare regarding an inappropriate comment he made, some things never change. Bucky looked pretty with a blond girl sat on his lap, you'd never seen her before and honestly had no desire to find out who she was because there was still one girl on your mind, we'll get to her in a minute.

Clint was sat with his wife, Steve sat with Sharon nothing appeared romantic just friendly but still. Looking round the room it appeared the whole 'we have no family' doesn't apply anymore.

Especially not to her.

Wanda with a woman you'd also never seen before, but the way they sat together, the brunette woman's arm laced round the back of Wanda's neck. And even from her you could see the ring on Wanda's finger that shone like a star in harsh lights of the compound.

The sight was heart breaking, soul crushing the jealousy and anger you felt at that moment was enormous, containing it within yourself was taking every last piece of energy.

What could you expect? Five years you've been gone, you left without warning, you left her behind. Now deal with the consequences.

You cleared your throat once, but it was not heard over the laughing and chatter, so you cleared it again, much louder than before. At that moment heads turned to follow the noise you had made, jaws drop, and everyone stood there stunned in silence, except for the new faces who just stared at you confused.

"Y/n?" tony questions. "hi." Was all you could mutter out.

A lump grew in your throat, making it difficult to talk as you held tears back. "you came home." He states. "yes dad, I came home." You choke out.

"It's been a while, I- we- we looked for you, we couldn't find you." he whispers, tony, your father, he doesn't cry but you could swear tears were welling up in his eyes, glossing them over.

"that was the whole point, HYDRA they wanted me, I put everyone here at risk, so I left and now those people are dead and so I came home." You explain.

People nod, understanding the situation but still nonetheless shocked to see you. Wanda lets go of the brunette's hand and walks over to you, lifting her had slapping it across your face harshly.

She breathes deeply, but lets her hand linger on your face slightly longer than she should've, in an apologetic was. "I thought you were dead." She cries. You stand there in front of her with absolutely nothing to say.
