Unfortunately for Celia the Irish celebrations went on all night, and they didn't seem to be quietening down, even after Midnight.
Luckily for her, she had several pairs of noise cancelling earplugs that blocked out all sounds around her. A firework could explode in her bedroom and she still wouldn't hear anything.
She was looking forward to a goodnights sleep, but that dream was interrupted, when she found herself being shaken awake in the dead of night.
Celia frowned at her brother for waking her, and pushed him away from her, before removing her earplugs.
"Can I help you?" Snapped Celia.
It was then that she realised the noise coming from outside was no longer cheerful or celebratory chants, but terrifying screams.
The look on Cedric's face was solemn, and Celia began to wonder what had happened.
Celia pulled the blanket around herself in fear, before placing her glasses onto her nose "What's going on?".
"We've got to get out of here, now!" Announced Cedric, as he grabbed hold of Celia's hand and began pulling her through the tent.
They met their father by the entrance, and he was already dressed, holding his wand aloft.
"Will someone tell me what's going on!" Demanded Celia.
"There's some sort of riot going on, and I need to help stop it. Ced, look after your sister, and take her to safety. Hide in the woods until I come to get you both" ordered Amos, before running out of the tent.
"We can't just leave our stuff here. I need to pack up all my books and take them with me" admitted Celia.
"You're seriously thinking about your books at a time like this?" Frowned Cedric.
"My books mean a lot to me" insisted Celia.
"Well, if they get damaged I will buy you new ones, because we have not got time to pack them all up. We need to go".
Cedric picked up Celia's coat and threw it to her, before putting on his own.
Once their coats were on they stepped outside, and Celia could see what was happening.
Several fires had been started on the campsite next to them, and people were running around screaming about death eaters.
In the distance she could see several people being suspended in the air and bounced up and down by people below them who were wearing masks.
Cedric held his wand in his hand, and his other arm was around Celia, guiding her towards the forest.
Her own wand was in her pocket, but she hadn't yet removed it, because she was scared of dropping it.
People were running in all directions, and bumping into each other as they tried to get away from the riots.
"We've got to keep moving" encouraged Cedric.
Celia did as her brother said, and allowed him to pull her to safety.
Once they were in the trees, the pair stopped to catch their breaths.
"Are you alright?" Asked Cedric.
Celia nodded, "I'm fine".
"Good" replied Cedric.
"Who were those people being suspended in the air?" Questioned Celia, as she made sure her glasses were secure on her nose.
"I don't know. But if the people causing all this chaos really are death eaters, then I expect the people they are tormenting are Muggles"
"Like the Muggles who run the campsite?"
"Exactly".
Celia shivered in horror at how cruel some people could be to others.
"Are you cold?" Quizzed Cedric, as he saw her shiver.
"I'll be O.K" reassured Celia, as she wrapped her arms around herself.
"Incendio!" Commanded Cedric, pointing his wand at a fallen log inbetween them.
"You could get expelled for that. You're not allowed to use magic outside of school until your birthday in September" reminded Celia.
"You are allowed to use magic in certain situations. Besides, the Ministry aren't going to know who cast the spell, since we are surrounded by thousands of witches and wizards right now" replied Cedric.
"I guess you've got a point" muttered Celia as she placed her hands in front of the fire to warm them.
"Anyway, with all the mayhem going on tonight, I don't think the Ministry will be concerned with a bit of underage magic. Especially from someone who turns 17 very soon" admitted Cedric.
"Hmm" mumbled Celia.
"I you sure you're O.K?" Questioned Cedric, concerned by her lack of conversation.
"I said I'm fine. Honestly Ced, you don't have to treat me like I'm a baby. I'm only in the year below you, so I don't need you watching over me all the time, and I certainly don't need you to protect me. I can take care of myself".
"I know that we're close in age, but you're still my little sister, so I will always want to look after you" informed Cedric.
"Yeah, well I wish you wouldn't" snapped Celia, before sitting down on a fallen log.
"Why do you hate that I care about you? And why do you never want to spend time with me when we're at home?" Asked Cedric softly.
"You really can't work that one out for yourself?"
"I don't ask for any special treatment from our father-"
"Yet you do seem to enjoy his praise"
"No, I don't. I hate it when he praises me and takes away the achievements of others".
"He doesn't do that, that often, as you have enough achievements of your own, that he can brag about. Seeker, Quidditch Captain, Prefect. You'll probably even be head boy next year" admitted Celia.
"So, you hate me because of my achievements?" Asked Cedric.
"Partly. You're also a little hard to be around, because you're just too perfect. I can never compete with you, which is why I gave up trying a long time ago" sighed Celia.
"Seals I-"
"Don't Seals me. Just drop it" interrupted Celia.
Cedric sighed and sat down on the other side of the fire.
The siblings sat in silence for almost an hour, until their father came for them and took them back to their tent, which luckily was still standing.
