She was tired of running, tired of being alone having to defend herself every second of her life. She had messy light brown hair that fell a few inches below her shoulders. Her skin was pale, after all she hadn't eaten or slept in days. Her eyes were brown but lifeless. And her face, filled with nothing. She showed no emotion, she used to be happy, but the world changed her. It was hard being just 17.

She wore light blue skinny jeans, an old band tee and a maroom jumper she found somewhere. She hid a knife in her boots and another one on her hip. On the other hip was a gun. She carried a rucksack on her back filled with the things she needed most. A bottle of water, a small packet of pain killers, a family photo, a blanket, a torch with spare batteries, a spare set of clothes and a few spare knives.

About 2 months ago she found herself with a group. They roamed the streets and came upon a prison. They cleared most of it out and left the prisoners locked up in a room. They stayed in cell block C. A few days ago it got over run with walkers. The thing is Georgia was sleeping while it happened and was on heavy pain killers at the same time so she didn't wake up.

They forgot about her. Left her locked in the cell, no food, only a bottle of water. She didn't know whether to go to the cell bars filled with walkers and let them get her or just starve to death. Both sounded unpleasant. But there was no other way. She was lost and alone.

She felt her eyes close. Finally this was it. What she'd been waiting for. Her body was giving up.

She heard voices but was unable to open her eyes. The moans that were next to her cell had now stopped. "Hey Rick, come check this out" A rough voice said. She wanted to move but couldn't. She was so cold after having no light for a week. Her cell opened and a pair of rough hands went under her back and legs, lifting her from the ground.

"Is she dead?" A young boy spoke. She was placed down in the light. "Someone get Hershal" The rough voice spoke again.

"Can you hear me?" An elderly man spoke. She had no energy left in her. They poured some cold water into her mouth. They wet a cloth and placed it over her head. She felt the same pair of rough hands carry her back into a cell and she blacked out.

---------------------------------------------------------

"What are we gonna do with 'er" She slowly opened her eyes. She was alone in a cell with a blanket around her. "We can't just leaver her, she was here first. We'll ask her the questions. Maybe she can be apart of us" He sounded confident, like a leader. A young girl walked into the room with blonde hair and a sweet smile on her face. "Daddy she's awake" She sat next to her and gave her a drink of water.

An old man walked in on cruches with one leg. "Hey miss, I'm Hershal and this is Beth" She sat up quickly and banged her head on the top bunk. "Ah shit" He took her temperature. "Well you seem a lot better than you were last week" Last week? She was out for a week! "What's your name?" The girl had a sweet voice. "I'm Georgia"

--------------------------------------------------

After another day of revovery most people had introduced themselves to her. Carl, Beth and Maggie seemed to be interested in her.

Rick called a group meeting. Everyone met around the tables and Rick stood in the middle. Goergia stood by the door not wanting to intrude or get involved. "This young girl, I'm sure we've all said hello. She seems harmless right?" They all nodded apart from one. "I'm going to talk with her, maybe she could become a member of our group" Someone in the back grunted. "What was that Daryl?"

"We don't know 'er yet. Could be dangerous. She looks weak, we have no use for her. She's jus' takin' up space" Georgia couldn't see him but could already tell she didn't like him.

"I ain't dangerous, I may be weak now but I can change" Everyone turned to face the girl at the back. "Tell me what you need me to do, I'll do it"

Rick walked up to her. "How many walkers have you killed?" "Erm I dunno, too many to count"

"How many people have you killed?" "One"

"Why?" "He asked me to"

Rick asked about her past. "My parents died straight away. I was with my brother for a while but he got bit and he asked me to kill him." Rick but his arm on her shoulder. "Never really fit in with a group before. Found one about 2 months ago. Left me here, then you showed up"

Rick was about to talk when a tall dark man walked in. He was rough but sexy. His sleaveless shirt showed his muscular dirty arms. His stubble had little grey bit in it. His eyes were blue but lifeless. His dark greasy hair fell over his ears and over his eyes a little. "Rick we're going on a run now. Be back later" Rick got up and patted his shoulder. "Keep safe Daryl"

*Georgia's POV*

Daryl. The one that doesn't want me here. That one that thinks I'm weak and useless. I'm not one to argue but I am one who avoids people. I can't believe I thought he aas sexy. I mean wow he is. I moved my eyes away from his face as I was beginning to stare. Rick walked out to go get his little girl. Daryl stood against the frame of the door for a second. I looked up at him and he turned and mumbled something under his breath.

So this is what life is going to be like now. Scowling at a guy I didn't know, at least I had Beth, her step sister Maggie and Carl.

I spent most of the day looking after Judith with Beth. I normally hate kids but Judith was too cute and I had to help somehow.

Everyone got back from the run and came inside with me and Beth who had Judith. Daryk handed Beth some formula and took Judith in his arms. He started bouncing her up and down in his arms.

Oh god. The way his muscles tightened, and the little smile that formed on his lips when he gave her some milk from the bottle. "Yeh, you like that, little asskicker" He looked around the room and smiled at us all until he reached my face. His smile dissapeared.

Of course I was angry but a hot guy with a baby....I think my heart stopped beating. He moved the bottle away and gently rocked her to sleep.

Everyone had gone from the room so it was just me and Daryl in the room. He was still holding her as she fell asleep. "I can take her, if you want me to" He just grunted. "Look man, what's your problem?" He made eye contact with me for the very first time. "I ain't got a problem" He placed her down in her bed and walked off.

Maggie walked in. "What's his problem? I haven't done anything to him" She laughed. "Ah that's just Daryl Dixon for ya. You've just got to earn his trust ya know. He's hard to explain. Once you get to know him he's not that bad"

A/N so this is my first Daryl Dixon story. Most people just throw him into a relationship but I wanted to do something different. I want it to be exactly how he would be in this situation. Awkward. So you'll have to carry on reading if you want to see Daryl possibly find love.
