*Daryl's POV*
She was out. Quick thing fast Daryl! I ripped her sleave off and tied it around her wound. T wasn't that deep, I think. How the fuck am I suppost to get her back now. "Stupid bitch. Typical. You said you'd be fine" I yelled at her lifeless body.
I scooped her up in my arms. "C'mon Georgia, stay with me" I threw my leg over my bike and placed her on my legs with her head in the crook of my neck. Her hair smelt of summer. I tucked her hair behind her ear before taking her pulse. It was there but faint. I needed to get her back quick. I set off down the road to get her help.
"Hmm Ouch" I heard her stir. "Shit you're awake" I stopped the bike and laid her on the roadside. "We need to get ye back, c'mon" I tried to pick her up but she stopped me. "Daryl I can't. It hurts too much, I need to rest." I picked her up and put her on my knees again "there were some house up ahead. I gotta get ya safe" Why was I being so protective all of a sudden.
She burried her head back into my neck. One hand was wrapped around me, the other was on her wound. It didn't take long but I found the houses we past. "Ere, stay. I'll go check this one out" I placed her down and went to check out the house.
It was quite large. I held my crossbow up in each room but there was nothing. I went back downstairs to see Georgia already in the house. "I tol' ya to stay out there" She collapsed to the floor.
I went to pick her up and took her to one of the beds upstairs. She was out cold. I lifted her shirt up a little so see that it had stopped bleeding. I grabbed my bag full of medical supplies and threw everything out where I could see it. I took off her sleave that was there and slowly pulled out the piece of glass. She didn't even move. Luckily there wasn't much blood and I was able to stitch her back up without her waking. I'm not a doctor or anything but when you need to do things, you gotta do it.
Should I change her shirt? I looked around the room and went in mans wardrobe. I pulled out a simple grey shirt and closed the door. Wait. She'll yell at me if I do this. It's not like I'm attracted to her anyway. Grow some balls and do it Dixon!
I walked up to her and sat on the bed next to her. I slowly unbuttoned her shirt and pulled her out of it, being careful not to pull her stitches. Her skin was purple and red from her bruises. She had little cuts everywhere. But she was beautiful and peaceful. I threw her shirt away and put her new one on that was quite big on her.
I put her under the covers and went to look around the house.
------------------------------------------------
*Georgia's POV*I woke up in a clean bed in a tidy room. Was it all just a dream. Had I imagined my family being slaughtered? The world going to shit? I sat up and clutched my stomach. I looked down to see a pretty bad attempt at stitching but I was alive. Wait. Where is my shirt. Who changed it? I sat up and grabbed some antiseptic cream and a bandage.
I slowly walked to the top of the stairs to see someone at the bottom staring up at me. "You shouldn't be up. You need to rest" I hobbled my way down the stairs and past Daryl. I wanted him to help me but I know he feels uncomfortable around people. I didn't want to make him angry again. He followed me to a room where I gently sat on the couch. "Thanks for the shirt" I placed the bandage and antiseptic on a small table in front of me.
He stood at the door, watching me. I unbuttoned the bottom of my shirt and put some more cream on. I applied too much pressure and winced. He just stood there, with an emotionless frown.
"Well are you gonna sit down?" I looked over at him. He grunted. "Gonna go huntin, stay 'ere. I'll be back before sundown" And he was gone.
What was I supposto to do now? Sit here while he's out. No thanks. I know I need rest but I wantwd to explore the house. It was quite large and I imagined the owners to be quite rich and posh. There must be some food around here.
I limped my way into the kitchen using the walls for support. There was a large fridge and plenty of cuboards to search through. Hopefully no one had been through things here. We needed all we could get.
I opened a few cuboards to find a few cans of baked beans and a beautiful can on bbq flavored pringles. I was beyond excited. There wasn't much in the fridge, some old milk and crap. But these pringles made the whole year better! I should wait till Daryl gets back...buttt....maybe I'll just have 1.
_______________________________
It was getting dark and still Daryl wasn't back. Had he gone back to his group without me? They didn't need me to be honest. I'm injured, they don't have the time or medication to heal my wounds.
I was sat on the couch when I heard the door slam. Was he back? Or was it someone else? I took my gun from the table and loaded it quietly. I tried to stand up without making any noises but failed. "Georgia?" I heard his thick southern drawl. He was back. "In 'ere" I sat back down and laid down on the couch. He walked in with a few squirrels hanging from his belt. "Nice catch" He simply nodded his head. "You're not much of a talker are you?" I asked. He shrugged his shoulders and leaned on the door frame. "Well I guess I'll talk then if you're not gonna. It's better than sittin ere in silence." He walked away. "Ok then..."
He went upstairs and grabbed us some blankets and pillows. He then went into the kitchen to get some food. " we're staying in this room tonight" He closed the door and put the table up against it. He then put the book case where the window is just incase any walkers try get us there.
Maybe I was wrong to ask the next question. "Are we gonna push the two sofas together? I mean we can share body heat and stuff, it's kinda cold in ere." He avoided eye contact. He was obviously uncomfortable with being around people. I assumed he didn't want to so I turned over so my back was to him and closed my eyes. It was nice sleepig in a house for once but it was so cold. I was shivering. After a while I heard Daryl move but I wanted him to think I was asleep so I stayed still as possible even though I was shivering.
I felt a soft blacket cover me up and heard Daryl sit on the couch the the left of me. "Thanks Daryl" I heard a little hum come from his mouth. " wake me up when you get sleepy, I'll take watch then. "No ya need rest, I'll just stay up. Doesn't bother me." I turned to face him. "Ya don't need to keep your 'bad man' gig up all the time Daryl, I'm not gonna bite ya." It fell silent. Maybe one day he would open up to me? I just have to take it slow with him.
A/N well I'm VERY sorry about the wait but I've been busy. But here is the next chapter! I hope you guys wouldn't mind answering a few questions for me?
1. Do you think Daryl will open up to Georgia?
2. Would Daryl just leave her and return to the group?
3. Would it be a good idea if Daryl's bike broke down?

Thanks, Beth xx
