My name is Princess Eloisa Genevieve Marietta VonHagen...and my life is in Grave danger.
Eh, what else is new?
"Hang on tight, Purrincess!" A smooth voice purred in my ear. I rolled my eyes but clung tighter to his leather-clad form.
Oh that's what's different about this time. This time, instead of royal guards or hired bodyguards, my safety rests in the hands of two teenage Superheroes. And how do I know they're teenagers?
Because apparently, I'm the only person in Paris that has a working set of eyes. But that's a story for another time.
You're probably wondering how I got here, and what the heck I'm talking about so...let's take a few steps back.
~~~SEVERAL MONTHS BEFORE~~~
You may think that the life of a modern-day Princess is exciting and magical, but in fact...this couldn't be less true. Let me run you through a typical day in my life.
Wake up call - 5:30 in the morning.
Why so early? Because, in the words of my stylist (Yes, I have one of those) It takes time to become beautiful, and the last thing the people of Estoura need is an ugly princess. I mean, I thought they'd care more about job safety, the economy, Estoura being a place they can raise happy and healthy children, but I guess I am sadly mistaken. Their main concern? Having a Princess that looks like a normal fifteen-year-old rather than a model out of a fashion magazine.
Lessons Begin - 8:00 AM
When Jean Pierre says 'Beauty takes time', he means it, and he spends nearly two and a half hours making me up to his qualifications, only for me to sit in a room alone with my tutor for my daily lessons. While my lessons are easily the most exciting part of my day, they certainly aren't what you'd classify as normal. While other girls my age are learning math and science, I'm learning the history of Estoura and our royal family, a variety of instruments and languages, and the rest is essentially 'How to Run a Country 101'.
Social Duties - 12:00 PM
A Princess, especially one that could become a Queen someday in the future, has a duty to be seen by her subjects. So, rather than me choosing things that might actually matter to the people of our country, I spend my afternoon doing photoshoots about town, press conferences with magazines, and getting caught "Accidentally" by the Paparazzi.
Evening Events - 5:00 PM
Five hours of public appearances later, and its time for the evening events such as premieres, concerts, and state dinners. It depends on the day which events I have and how long each event takes. But this can usually take one-to-two hours, three at the most.
Turn in - 8:00 PM
By 8 Its time for me to be shut up in the castle and I can do whatever I please, but it usually consists of homework or going to bed early from an exhausting day.
My schedule is the same every day. It never stops, never changes. My mom believes consistency is the best way to keep me safe. I think consistency is how your enemies know where to find you at all times of the day but hey, no one's asking my opinion.
But its because of this mind-numbing consistency...that I know something is horribly wrong. Because for the first time in my entire life, my schedule for the day was wiped and I was called into my father's office. I weaved slowly through the castle corridors with anxiety rising in my chest. This is unprecedented, and while I'd normally kill for any kind of deviation, this was starting to scare me.
