"Hiro you were incredible! Tell him Go Go!"
"Good job, Hiro."
"I have to say I was impressed."
"Woo science! Yeah!"
We all pushed our way out the door, bounding about excitedly with each step. Hiro had just gotten excepted into the San Fransoyko Institute of Technology, after his spectacular performance with his 'microbots'. Gogo, Fred, Wasabi, Honey Lemon and the rest of us, including Aunt Cass, were all about to head back to the café for a special dinner to celebrate Hiro's success. Everyone stopped once more to congratulate Hiro, including me. I hugged him and nudged his arm gently, "You were great." I told him. Hiro grinned at me, revealing his cute little gap between his two front teeth.
"I am so, so proud of all three of you!"
Aunt Cass exclaimed as she reached out and hugged all three of us tightly with elation, "I love my family!" Her hand ruffled Hiro's already-messy hair and she went to kiss mine and Tadashi's cheek. "Alright!" She began.
"Let's get back! Special dinner is on me-e-e!" She sang merrily. There was joy in her movements as she began walking again with the rest of them. Tadashi poked mine and Hiro's back, then went over to Aunt Cass, placing his hand on her shoulder, "We'll catch up, okay?" He jolted. She beamed at her nephew, "Don't be too long," she said and left soon after, along with the group. Us, on the other hand, departed with Tadashi. He led me and Hiro to the spot of the park where you had a beautiful overview of the university. There were blossom petals on the ground from the trees that were placed both sides of us and you could see the moon shine on ahead. It was winter, yet there was warmth in the air. It was settling. The university was lit up brightly, setting the atmosphere perfectly. We stopped at the wooden balcony and placed ourselves against it, starring off into the sky. Tadashi lit up a smile, setting his eyes on me and Hiro. "I'm proud of you two," he told us, "You did brilliantly today." We both exchanged looks, beaming at each other with delight. "I didn't do much Tadashi. Hiro was the one who amazed us all." I looked up, smiling as my hair drifted off into the summer nights air.
"Erika, you was the one who encouraged me!" Hiro added in, jumping up in protest. "You helped me prepare it, you were amazing."
Tadashi gave off a chuckle, "Yeah, she was."
I blushed, moving my hair behind my ear. "No..." I said, sheepishly. "Hiro, you're amazing."
"You're both amazing." Tadashi told us, leaving it at that. "Little geniuses."
All three of us laughed. It was fun spending time with Hiro and Tadashi. Since both of them would now be gone a lot, I wouldn't get to see them as often as I'm used to. I never wanted the moment to end. The air around us was cool and refreshing. I felt it fly past me, soothingly. Tadashi then moved, grabbing both mine and Hiro's attention.
"Welcome to nerd school, Hiro." he said, gazing of into the beautiful nights dimness. I giggled. "Thanks you two, I couldn't of done it without you," Hiro spoke, sheepishly, "so thanks again."
"No problem, Hiro," me and Tadashi said in unison.
"Oh, and Erika?" Tadashi began, "I hope you'll consider applying here as well." I looked up at him, his face full off determination. I gave out a slow sigh in response. The reason why I hadn't applied yet was unknown to me. It wasn't like I didn't want to, because I had my heart set on this place like Hiro did. I wanted to be with Tadashi and Hiro at all times. Something just didn't feel right.
"I don't know..." I finally said with another heavy sigh. I noticed the disappointment gradually appear in Hiro and Tadashi's eyes. "I just need time to think, that's all." They both gave each other a glare of suspicion, as if in something was up with me. I could sense their aggravation. Feeling guilty, I added in a mumbled "Sorry," and left it at that.
