"I AM SOOOO TIRED. IM GONNA DIEE. I WANT FOOD!!!!!!! "I complained out loud as I walked past a shallow lake. I'd been walking for at least two days now and I was starting to get (very)  tired. My hooves are aching and my stomach is empty. I try to think positive and stay on track. Goodness, it's only been a few days and I'm already complaining. Well, currently I'm on a vibrant red and silver stone pathway that should lead me to the supply store.

My imagination starts wandering and I picture myself, standing over top the Rainbow Mountain, looking down on the whole kingdom, my gray and white wool flowing in the wind. Determination swelled throughout my body as I trotted down the path. After a moment or two, I heard screeches coming from a cluster of brambles on the edge of the stone road. I angle my ears towards the noise, cautiously moving towards it. I push back some of the branches and see that there's a snow-white owl, caught in some sort of trap. Well, more like a cluster of frantically shaking feathers and ropes attached to a nearby tree.

I blinked " Hey, um, are you alright?" It whipped around, clearly startled by my question. " Are you serious?!" It, well, she snapped, "Do I look like I'm alright?" I took a step forward, observing the situation. "Well um, not really but-" "Okay then so are you just going to stand there or are you going to assist me?" The owl hissed. I was slightly taken aback. "Wow um okay that was rude", I thought, "But I can't just leave her here, ugh." "Fine. I'll go look for something to cut the rope" I said before adding,"Don't go anywhere." She looked at me with a dry expression and went back to struggling against the ropes.

I continued deeper into the woods, looking around for anything sharp. Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted something moving and shiny in the hedges. I squeezed my awkwardly tall body through the branches and ungracefully stumble out. A small, cream colored llama with an eyepatch covering his left eye was chopping long green plants on a flat stone with a small knife. He paused and looked up at me, warily. " Hey um, sorry to bother you but could I borrow that for a quick second?"I asked backing up a little.

He put down the knife and after a moment he spoke. "Um, alright" he hesitantly nudged the knife over to me. " Thank you," I said but a thought popped into my head. "Wait, not to pry or anything but what are you doing all the way out here in the middle of nowhere?" I questioned while taking the knife. " I could ask you the same thing" he replied casually. He'd  begun to pack away the plants in his worn-out satchel. I put the knife down" Oh come on" I pleaded. He shifted his legs and looked at me, " Just traveling" he stated. "Oh really? Anywhere specific?" I asked curiously.

"You said you wouldn't pry" He retorted, " Just you know, The Rainbow Mountain" I stared at him with wide eyes," Are you serious, me too!" I beamed. Excitement surged through my body, I had found someone to travel with!  "Well it's a good thing I found you, I only stopped here cause..." I paused for a second, trying to think of why I had stopped in the first place. I stared in the direction of where I came before it all came rushing back." Oh no, I forgot about the owl. I have to go help her! I gotta go like right now "I exclaimed. I picked up the knife again and turn to leave. " Wait" I heard the other llama say" I'll come with you".

After a bit of searching, we reached the owl, who was still straining against the ropes. She turned to face us as we walked into the clearing. I could feel the anger and frustration rolling off of her in waves. "FINALLY" she started, "I THOUGHT YOU RAN OFF AND LEFT ME OR SOMETHING " she ranted as I leaned down to cut the ropes. "Goodness, why am I helping her again?" I thought and rolled my eyes.

Once she was freed, she shook the dirt from her feathers and stretched out her wings. She tried to fly but she fell to the ground, her left wing was bent the wrong way. "Here, let me help," the other llama said as he pulled out a long bandage and used it to wrap her wing. She mumbled thanks to the llama and sighed deeply " Now I'll never be able to reach the Rainbow Mountain!" She groaned. I froze and stared at her with the same wide eyes I stared at the white llama "Wait a minute, you're going to the rainbow mountain too?" I asked, hope bursting in me. "What do you mean by too?" She questioned, ruffling up her feathers. The white llama and I looked at each other, then at the owl. " We're headed to Rainbow Mountain as well" the other llama answered her. I shook with glee. The other future Rainbow Guardians were here.

We agreed to travel together and we left the forest. Since the owl could not fly, she climbed on the llama's back as we walked. We started to go down the red and silver path that I was originally on before I realized something. "By the way, since I just realized that we've never introduced ourselves to each other, what are your names?" I asked."I'm Athena" said the snowy owl. "And I'm Henry " the llama added. " Well, the name's Larry" I replied, grinning. "It's getting kind of late. We should rest, we have a long journey ahead of us."Athena said. " "Yeah, you're probably right," I say while looking at the reddish sky. We continue walking until we find a sheltered clearing with enough room for all of us. I lied down beside  Henry while Athena had tucked her head under her good wing. I smiled at them before laying my head down and closing my eyes, drifting off to sleep.
