//again based off of Riptide ;')

so i re-listened to Riptide so that I could actually remember things-
very minor spoilers for episode 8???

So i now actually know Gillion's sister's name ;-; Eden :D
I really liked the small snippet that we got of their interaction? and I made a playlist of songs that kinda give me Gillion vibes- and a song called "Wanderer's Lullaby" came on! I like to think of it as Eden saying it to Gill when he's had a hard day of constant training, coming out of that tiring environment feeling like he failed? So this is based off of that past interaction?
probably a shorter lil thing- not really a song fic? but i do use the lines from the song as inspiration for Eden's dialogue.
Also I really recommend listening to the song it's really pretty :D
This is absolutely an excuse for me to write about big brother Gillion.

TW// none? i dont think? idk- tell me if there are any though! <3

Gillion made his way through the archway that led to his sleeping quarters, heading towards his bed that was still messy from him getting up earlier that morning. Letting out a tired groan, he took a seat and rubbed his face tiredly, felling all of the tension from his long day of training slowly slip away from his features. But of course, the exhaustion remained. Grabbing his longsword, Gillion began to sharpen it, finding the process somewhat therapeutic, though the triton knew the maintenance of his sword was the more important part, not his gain from the action. A minute or so of silence passed by until Gillion heard a familiar humming coming from the entrance to his room, looking up and seeing Eden. The second Eden saw Gillion's expression, a soft sympathetic smile appeared on her features, making her way over to Gillion, slowly taking the sword from him and putting it away.

"Well from the look on your face, training didn't go too well...?" She tilted her head, her voice soft. Gillion groaned loudly, his head falling into his hands.

"I don't understand, Eden... it should've clicked by now. I just keep failing... the elders are getting just as aggravated with my failures as I am... I don't understand where I'm going wrong" His shoulders slumped, making Gillion realise just how tense and stressed he had been at the relief of his muscles relaxing, even just for a second. Eden frowned, watching her brother struggle so much with something so trivial as "prophecy" or "destiny", something she didn't fully believe in, not as much as Gillion at least.

"Hey... You'll get it soon enough, Gill... I know you're tired and frustrated. B-But hey! You never know, what if tomorrow's training session is the one?!" She put on a grin, placing a hand on Gillion's shoulder. He looked up at her and smiled softly, obviously very appreciative of her trying to cheer him up.

"Perhaps. Thank you, Eden. I just... wish it would've happened sooner, you know? It'd make all of this so much easier..."

"Well... Yeah, that's true. But... a-and I know that I've said this before, but... what if this whole prophecy thing isn't for you? Maybe they got it wrong or-" Gillion cut her off, his voice raising slightly, not with anger or frustration, but just of exhaustion.
"Eden... If the elders say it is I who is destined to be this... this "Champion" then it is so. They do not "get it wrong". I know you're just trying to help, but... I can't go against the prophecy. I am meant to go to far away places and... and to help people. It is my destiny..." Gillion seemed to recite the last part, almost as if he was conditioned to say it whenever he was struggling. Eden's frown only grew, letting out a soft huff and crossing her arms.

"Gill. You've told me before, you don't even believe what you're saying. This-" Eden gestured to Gillion's slumped posture and tired expression, "This is not living. This isn't what life should be about, Gillion..! It's not you. It's not fair that the elders are trying to define you with this prophecy..! And I know that you agree with me..!" Eden looked at Gillion, her brows furrowed as id to further her point. Gillion fell quiet for a few seconds, then letting out a soft sigh he looked up at Eden.
