The whispering. I never knew a simple headscarf could make you unknown to the whole school population. Come on guys you know me. Feeling self conscious I tugged at the bottom of my oversized shirt. I'm still trying to be fashionable and modest at the same time. I walked to my locker to see my friends Talia and others already.
"Hey guys," I said as I came up to them.
"Nats?" Talia questioned
"The one and only," I gave her a slight smile.
"Why the change?"
"My dad..."
No explanation needed. All my friends know that whatever my dad says goes. They nodded and let me get to my locker. Janice and Lilly looked really uncomfortable with my presence.
"Guys there's no need in staring at her like she's different. This is still Nats."
This is why I love Talia, she's always there for me and I'm always there for her. I actually think that we are sisters who were separated at birth. Now that everyone knew that I was Natasha, everyone's views changed.
"I like your outfit"
"You look fabulous in the headscarf"
I've heard all these compliments all day and it gets very tiring.
Well I guess there's one positive in all this tho, I still have my friends. None of them have said anything against me, they're all still with me, we are still the squad.I must've been walking to my biology class when I bumped into a hot guy, when I say hot I mean OhMyGoshhhh. This boy is beautiful. He had two different coloured eyes one blue and one hazel with a green outline and his hair was brown. He was just too wow.
"You done checking me out?"
Woah was that his voice
"Oh-Uhm-I- I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going."
Stuttering. I don't stutter.
"It's fine it was my fault." he said with a smile. His teeth just completes the look.
"Aren't muslim girls supposed to lower their gaze?"
I felt my cheeks heat up. I forgot I was wearing the headscarf.
"Sorry..."
"No need to apologise beautiful."
He called me beautiful?!??!?!? While I'm wearing this head thing.
The late bell interrupted us.
"Well I guess I'll see you around princess."
I watched him walk away too stunned to say anything.I quickly rushed to class, apologising to the teacher before sitting next to my guy best friend, Leon.
Leon is what you call the typical player. He's mixed race, pearly white teeth, always has a diamond earring in one ear and basically I've never seen him any other way except like a brother to me.
"What's with the change frog brain"
Well...only we have the most amazing nicknames for each other, flips hair, oops I mean head scarf.
"My dad indirectly wanted me to change, poo breath"
Just as Leon was about to reply Miss Mani interrupted him.
"Natasha and Leon, would you like to share with us what you're talking about."
"Oh Miss, me and Nats here were wondering if a frog has a single circulatory system or double."
What is it with this guy and frogs.
Rolling my eyes I looked up at Miss pretending to agree with what he said.
"Well..frogs have....."
Well at least her attention isn't focused on us anymore.
Leon threw a note at me...
We are going to talk about this in the library at lunchI just shrugged. Well I guess I did have to tell someone.

Salaam everyone
So this chapter is probably very short but it's just the beginning I'm really confident with this story so chapter lengths should increase. To clear things up, please don't judge Natasha, she wasn't a practicing Muslim so she doesn't know the rights and wrongs in Islam yet.
But anyways no votes or comments yet unfortunately 😔😔😔
Please vote comment and promote
Thanks
