Chapter Two

When the biology bell went off, just as I placed my book in my bag, Leon dragged me to the library.
"Woah... looks like someone's impatient."
Leon just rolled his eyes and kept pulling me towards the library.
Once we found a seat I sat down and took out my prawn sandwich. Sorry yeah but prawns are the best. just as I was about to start eating, the sandwich was snatched from my hand.
"Heyyy...." I pouted.
"Nope you're not eating this until you explain... I never knew you were muslim."
I sighed and told him the whole story of what my dad told me the night before.
"But why didn't you tell us that you were Muslim."
"Because I didn't want to be treated differently Leon.."
"Okay, alright enough depressing talk...have you heard of the new guy, I'm surprised you and the girls haven't mentioned him."
"Nah I haven't seen him..."
Is it that guy with the different coloured eyes.
He was cute and I haven't seen him in the school before...
"Tashaaaaa.."
"Huh-what"
"You zoned out what are you thinking about"
"Oh nothing"
Leon narrowed his eyes at me but didn't push me to speak any further.
"Can I get my sandwich back now please.."
He rolled his eyes and handed it back to me.... sticking my tongue out at him I continued to eat.
We spent the rest of lunch just talking about life
I like times like this with Leon. no one to bother us while we talk and just having nice heart to hearts. he's like a brother I never had.
---
School was finally finished for the day.
As I walked out I was greeted with a group of girls with headscarves. oh yeah I forgot I was wearing one of these things.
I rolled my eyes and indicated to them to start to speak.
"Uhh--uhm salaam Natasha..."
"Yeah yeah, what do you want..."
She looked a little shaken up.
"We didn't know you were Muslim..."
"Yeah and so..."
"We just wanted to say if you need some Muslim advice we are here in the school..."
Haha they're so funny. As if I'll need advice.
"Yeah okay whatever you're wasting your time."

The girls walked off and I walked towards my car.
"That was a little harsh don't you think."
I spun round and saw him again. Those blue and green eyes. They look so beautiful.
"Uh-uhm-I"
"Cat got your tongue"
I shook my head. Why can't I speak properly.
"Actually...no, I just wasn't interested in what the said."
"So you're wearing the hijab for the first time?"
"Uhm-yes"
There finally got the hang of talking. I just have to stop looking into his eyes.
"Okay I hear that, hope you get home safely."
He smiled. That smile thought. It was so amazing. Realising I was still staring I quickly got into my car and drove home...

"I'm homeeee!"
I walked into the door to see my mum sat watching T.V.
"You say salaam Natasha..."
"What?"
"When you see any Muslim friends or when you enter the house you say salaam"
"Oh...uhm okay, salaam mum."
"Salaam Natasha how was your day"
"It was alright"
"Okay good to know"
I don't understand.
Why do they have to be so strict on religion now...
They never cared before.
Sighing I changed into my pyjama shorts and a baggy shirt. Hey I'm at home now I'm allowed to wear shorts. I got into bed ready for my afternoon nap. And yes I do take naps because school is just too tiring. As I closed my eyes the image of the two coloured eyes came to mind. I smiled and went to sleep.
