Mystic Falls. May 10th, 1994.It was exactly five months ago that Samara and her friends had defeated the Travellers, a dangerous group of magicians who threatened the lives of her and her friends.
And somehow, instead of dying, Sam, Bonnie and Damon had landed here: an alternate world with no one except the trio, reliving the same day every day – May 10th, 1994.
Every day an eclipse would set over the small town of Virginia and for a brief moment everything turned dark.
Damon called this place his 'own personal hell' but Sam did not believe him. She'd always pictured Damon's hell a to be a little more, well...deadly and cruel. Just everything else but a sunny day in May.
And while Damon was convinced that the three of them were dead, Bonnie and Sam both had their doubts.
But in some moments, when the sun would set for the thousand time over Mystic Falls, or Damon would make the same, horrible pancakes he made everyday, Sam wondered if dead might have been better than this.
She hated it here. Not only because she didn't really enjoy the company of Damon Salvatore but because she felt lost in this world. Not even Bonnie knew exactly where they were.
Sure, she had her vague theory about her grandmother being responsible for this but Sam didn't think so either. She had the weird feeling that this world wasn't some kind of safe place between heaven and hell - nor was it hell - but whatever this place was, they weren't supposed to be here.
None of them had an idea of where they were, how to get out or how much longer they would have had to stay and it scared her more than anything else.
On this day, Sam decided to stay in the Salvatore Mansion instead of going to the grocery store with Damon and Bonnie.
Since there was not much to do, she would usually read one of the many books that the Salvatore brothers had collected over the years. Deep down she was hoping to find a spell that could get them out of here or at least some clue of what this place was.
Sam had already known Damon and Stefan for about 100 years when her best friend Lexi introduced her to the friendly and charming Stefan Salvatore.
She later met his brother Damon but Sam soon realized that Damon meant trouble and she wasn't wrong about it. He almost killed her best friend. Since then, the two of them didn't end up being close friends.
It was one hour after the eclipse, the sun was shining over Mystic Falls again and Sam was reading an old novel in the living room when she heard noises outside the house, and soon later the door was pushed open.
Sam could hear Damon pant loudly. A one hundred year old vampire panting from carrying groceries?
Sam put the book aside and got up from the leather couch to assist Damon. To her surprise, he was carrying a tall, brown-haired guy instead of groceries.
