With a deep groan, the stranger in the chair slowly started to wake up, stretching his neck and clenching his veined hands into fists before he looked around the room.

With a smile, his eyes stared at Bonnie - who now stood up from the armchair, crossing her arms in front of her chest – and then Damon, who held the poker in the one hand and the bag of pork rinds in the other. Then, his eyes landed on Sam, watching her for a second before looking back at Damon.

"Good, you're awake," Damon said, "Now, let's start the q&a-part of the evening."

Kai slightly tilted his head to the left. "Let me guess. I answer right, I get a pork rind. Wrong, I get the poker," he replied in a deep voice. Sam watched his every move, still playing with the knife in her hand.

"What? No, no, no, these are for me," Damon hid the bag behind his back,  "You only get the poker."

He pointed the poker at Kai, making him look down at the sharp, irony spike on his chest.

"Yeah, you don't have to do that," Kai said. "We're on the same team."

Damon moved the poker away from him. Sam watched the happenings in front of her without saying a word, but still ready to interfere in case someone would try to kill the other.
Bonnie raised an eyebrow. "Really?Do you always try to kill your teammates?" she asked sarcastically.

"The important thing is that you have your magic back. It worked," Kai explained, his words making the other three hesitate for a moment.

Kai's attention went back to Sam. He stared at her, almost observing her presence as if she was an exhibit in a museum. She suddenly felt herself tense at his gaze, making her hold the knife in her hands harder. So hard that she almost cut herself with it, but Kai then looked back at Damon and Bonnie.

"What, you didn't really think I'd kill Damon, did you?" he asked, knowing that the three of them had no idea of his actual plan. Bonnie and Damon looked at each other, obviously confused and doubtful about what Kai just said.

Sam automatically continued flipping the knife in her hand as it helped her concentrate on the whole situation.

Kai chuckled quietly. "In what universe does that make sense?" he added in a sarcastic tone. "I wouldn't kill one-fourth of our population. I'm not a monster," his gaze went back to Sam when he said that, staring at her intensely and watching the knife in her hand.

He almost looked impressed for a brief moment, but this expression left his face as fast as it had appeared on it.

"I knew Bonnie would show up," he continued explaining his plan, "She always comes back. And I knew, with the right motivation, she'd be able to access her magic"
