I know what you did last summer

Sam woke up to the same glaring sunbeams she had been waking up to for the past five months. The sun gently fell through the large, light grey curtains and made the room light up in a soft golden colour.

Sam had no idea how late it was but she could hear that Damon was already up, making loud noises in the kitchen downstairs. She yawned quietly before she got up and walked to the bathroom to take a quick shower.

After that she switched into a 90's Jeans that she found in a store two months ago, and a t-shirt that she had stolen from Stefan's wardrobe. She decided to leave her hair like it was when she walked downstairs.

She took a quick look at Kai, who was still asleep in his chair, and went to the kitchen where she found Damon making pancakes. Just like he did everyday. "Coffee?" he asked, handing her a cup with freshly brewed coffee.

Sam nodded and took a sip from it when she noticed a familiar taste. "I put some blood in it," Damon whispered with a wink before going back to making pancakes. "Thank you..?" Sam said, confused as to why Damon was suddenly being nice to her.

"You know, last night I figured that this guy-," he pointed at Kai, "-is a lot more annoying than you have been in the past five months," he explained while flipping the pancakes in the pan around.

"How nice of you," Sam answered with a slighty sarcastic smile on her face. Maybe Damon was just being nice to her so she would agree with him later.

She took another sip of the coffee. "Is Bonnie not up yet?" she then asked and Damon shook is head in denial. "She's upstairs, taking a shower," he said.

"So, what's the plan?" Sam asked and took a quick look at the living room. She was pretty sure they were too far away for Kai to hear them and also, he was still napping with his head resting on the side.

Damon put the pancakes out of the pan and onto a plate before he spoke. "I thought we'll find out what he knows and if he's telling the truth. And then we'll decide on everything else. Is that alright with you?" he asks. Sam nodded in agreement.

It wasn't the best plan but so far it was the only plan they had. Bonnie came downstairs, passing Kai in the living room and then joined Damon and Sam in the kitchen. Damon pushed a plate with pancakes to her.

"You want some too?" he asked, looking at Sam but she shook her head. She could hear Kai slowly waking up in the other room. He opened his eyes, which needed some time to adjust to the light sunbeams that were falling through the large windows.

He looked around in the room and then, with a smirk, his eyes landed on Sam. She looked back at him, the two of them staring into each others eyes, and for a second, Sam forgot everything around them.
