Ch. 24

Tris's POV

The girls have been acting really weird at school lately. And secretive. Like, I should be the one acting weird I mean Im starting to like Fo... Never Mind.

Im on my way to the Abnegation Sector with my mom. I have to go there every Saturday with my mom, unless I have other plans.

Im really hoping that Four is not going to be there because I have been trying to avoid him as much as possible without anyone getting suspicious. If he is here, then my mom will make us work together and it will be even more awkward than it was last week.

When we arrive at the Abnegation Sector I see that Marcus's car is here. Hopefully Four isn't here with him.

When we got inside, we checked in and looked around. I only saw Marcus, so maybe Four isn't here. "Hi Marcus, what are you planning on doing today? Maybe I can help?" My mom offers to Marcus.

Marcus replies with, "Oh of course Natalie. I was planning on going to the dog shelter."

"Oh okay! I will be right over," my mom replies.

Right when my mom told me to go help the people organize food for the homeless center, Four came out from the bathroom. Ugh.

"Oh! Four! Do you want to go help organize food at the homeless center with Bea-" my mom starts.

"Tris" I interrupt.

"Yes... Tris" my mom says hesitantly.

"Oh of course, come on Tris," Four says with a smile.

"See you later honey," my mom says.

"Bye," I say.

Four and I head to the homeless center in silence. When we get there, we decide to organize the cans of food that schools collect for the homeless shelter.

In the middle of organizing, Four asks me, "What would you do if I poured this all over you?"

I reply with, "Umm I would pour some on you."

"Ok," he says trying to hide his smile. Oh no, what's he going to do?

I just ignored him and started organizing cans again.

I finished the first pile from a school called "Pine Wood Middle School" and went to go to another pile. On my way there, I slipped on something and fell on Four, might I add, again.

"I guess your just falling for me all over again," Four says with a smirk.

We get up and I smack him, lightish, on the arm.

"Well someones getting feisty," Four adds.

I reply with, "Shut up."

After an hour or so, it was time to go. There were no more incidents, which was a relief.

When we meet Marcus and my mother in the center lobby, they tell us both to go to my house, while my mom, dad, and Marcus have dinner at the Eaton's house. Ugh.

Four and I both look disgusted with the plan, although I don't completely hate the idea.

Both my mom and Marcus ate taking their cars to the Eaton household, so Four and I have to walk home. Which I don't understand, because we are neighbors. Why does the world hate me!?!?

We all check out, and go our separate ways; well Four and I, and then my mom and Marcus.

I was NOT planning on walking home, so I only brought a light coat, in February. Not a good idea.

"So are we gonna go now?" Four asks with a bit of attitude.

"Sure," I reply in the same tone.

We start walking in silence, until I ask him, "Why did you make me slip both times we came to Abnegation Sector?" I am only asking because Im curious if he likes me, too.

"Umm... Cuz I think its funny when you fall and I guess Im always in the wrong place?" He replies kind of like a question.

I stop walking. He stops too. "Really. Why?" I ask again.

"Maybe this will answer your question," Four says.

Im really confused, until I feel something warm on my lips. I realize whats happening and kiss back. Tons if emotions are running through my body like energy traveling through wires. I feel sparks spreading through my body starting at my lips and going outwards. I see fireworks in my vision, even though my eyes are closed.

The kiss starts to get deeper and I realize we aren't doing anything with the rest of our bodies. I wrap my arms around his neck and he wraps his arms around my waist. We stay like this for a long time.

It was the best real first kiss ever.
