Hello! Since I'm not a whole fan of the 'authors notes at the bottom of each chapter' type deal, I'll be adding anything important to note in this little widget :)! You can also use this area to ask any questions, or drop some critiques or improvements I can make. Though it's not guaranteed I will follow critiques, they're something I keep in mind for future updates! As a bit of a side note, I will be editing a few chapters back and forth while updating, so just be cautious of that!

Hi, a little random ass fact about me but I love music and I'm pursuing a music minor in my university studies so here,, please take the inevitable music list!

I'll be working on the characters song lists as the story goes on, so my apologies for only having gojo's and [REDACTED]'s for now :(. I am a full on jazz simp, and since this is detective themed I mainly stuck with jazz (particularly Jazz Noir and a bit of Bossa Nova) with a few outliers sprinkled here and there. Feel free to listen to these while you read along or even just when you're sitting down vibing! Some songs even directly inspired a few scenes, so those with good ears and good eyes may recognize it ;)

STORY STRUCTURE

Here's a bit of an explanation on the story structure! It should be kinda normal- but I'm doing my best to run with a ✨detective atmosphere✨, so this chapter stands more as an explanation of some of the narrative devices I will be using.

NORMAL CHAPTERS will be labelled by numbers in the - 000 - format. These should be self explanatory, but if you have any questions  please don't hesitate to ask!

FLASHBACKS will be organized with a "case file" layout. Flashbacks will be presented through a description - evidence basis. It's the structure of the evidence which can be a bit more intimidating. Much like evidence in the real world, I've tried to compile different methods of giving you all the information of flashbacks. I will list some of the methods below, but I may add to this if I get any more funky ideas in the future. I would strongly recommend you read through the case files for context. You could choose to skip them, but you may miss very important story details.

DOCUMENTS
Documents will be presented as they would be if they were physically printed out. These can range from letters, screenshots, information sheets, hospital records, etc.

AUDIO TRANSCRIPTS
Whether an audio transcript is recorded or retold by an individual will be disclosed at the top of the section.

SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE
Security camera footage is the closest representation of the events, and are described similarly to present day scenarios with both character dialogue and scene descriptors.

EVERYTHING ELSE should be self explanatory from the title chapter. If you see something you don't recognize, refer back here as I may have updated the explanations to include it!
