"Does it seem like it, or are you happier than usual right now?"
Andrew looked questioningly at Tori, who was staring at her phone with a broad smile.

"I don't like it either," I interjected annoyed, for which I received a warning look from my boyfriend.

"You're about to get another timeout," Beck warned me.

I groaned.
"Well then Tori, tell us why you're so happy.", I said in my Tori voice, but she wasn't even paying attention to that. Normally she would be screaming 'I don't sound like that' right now. But that's fine with me.

"I met someone!" she squealed happily. "And I may have fallen in love."

I screwed up my face in disgust.
"Who would volunteer to be with you?"

"Okay that's it, time out."
"But I-"
"No, time out."

I crossed my arms.

"So, tell us about the lucky guy," Andrew echoed.
Cat and Robbie, meanwhile, were talking about some man-eating kids.

"How about you guys meet the person yourselves? Are you guys free tomorrow night? "

"Well, it works for me." replied Beck, Andrew nodded in agreement, and Cat and Robbie also indicated they were in.

"Absolutely," I joined in, which got me confused looks.
"I'm just interested in who Tori would date."

"We're not dating yet, but we're pretty close," Tori said.

"That explains a lot," I muttered.

"You want time off again?"

"It's okay," I defended myself and sat back.

Timeskip

Tori excitedly put a tray of potatoes on the table. She seemed pretty nervous, and I was enjoying it to the fullest.

"You cooked? He must be something special-.", Robbie quipped.

"No time for jokes Robbie.", Tori interrupted him stressed. I even saw her hand shake slightly as she pulled out a small box that was wrapped like a present.

I couldn't help a small, nasty grin, however, I also couldn't deny that I was really curious about who this particular guy was. I had never seen Vega so excited.

My head shot to the door when the doorbell rang.

"Please behave," Vega pleaded, looking at me though.

"I can't promise anything," I replied with a grin.

Tori rolled her eyes and opened the door.

And I raised my eyebrows.
Because there was no guy standing in front of the door. That surprised me, I really thought Vega was straight. Also, the attractive girl looked extremely familiar until I recognized her.
And then my heart stopped.
Y/N.
My ex.

Shocked, I stared at the girl. I hadn't recognized her at first because she had changed a bit. Instead of the long, straightened hair, she now had short, dyed hair that she had tied into a small ponytail. A single, slightly curly strand fell into her face. She also wore a black open blazer, which was extremely flattering to her figure, and a crop top.
The shy girl who had been afraid to tell anyone that she was a lesbian, or afraid to wear anything but sweaters, had become a confident young woman. Yet only a year had passed.

And before I knew it, she leaned over to Vega and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Only on the cheek. And yet, I was jealous.

I had done everything I could to get rid of my feelings for this girl. Everything. And now I see her for the first time in months, and reluctantly I had to admit to myself that her appearance threw all my efforts out the window. Everything I had tried to fight came back in one fell swoop.
