Rowan had to be the nicest person ever. I really mean it too. The way she talked to me, the way she treated me, everything about her! She still is, I might add.

Now, you're probably wondering, what happened after the rain? Well...

~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Rowan! We're home!"
Rowan was surprised when her parents walked in the door. "Mom! Dad! What are you doing here?"
"The roads opened up, so we thought we'd surprise you."
Her mother started up the stairs and Rowan started to panic.
"Now, I hope your room isn't a mess."
"Nope! No mess! Why don't you put your bags away? I'm sure you're tired from the trip."
Her mother shook her head and opened the door to Rowan's room. Rowan rushed inside, expecting to explain why a homeless boy was in her room, but I was nowhere in sight.
"Rowan, what's the matter with you? Never mind, I need to unpack. You're very lucky your room is clean young lady."
She left the room, leaving Rowan speechless. It was then that I opened the closet door.
"Is she gone?" I whispered.
Rowan nodded.
For the next few days, as the ground was still very wet, I stayed in Rowan's closet. When she could, Rowan would sneak food up to me so I could eat.
By this time, I had been here for almost two weeks.
"Rowan... When can I go back to the park? I don't want to get you in trouble."
Rowan smiled, but it faded when her mother spoke.
"Trouble?" Rowan's mother glared at us.
"Mom!"
"Rowan... I knew you were hiding something in your room. I thought it was probably a cat. But a boy? Really?"
"Mom, please. He's homeless and he has no family, and he's really nice, and he's got nowhere to go! Please let him stay just a bit longer!" She begged her mother.
Her mother eyed me for a little bit. "I'll talk with your father about it."
Then, she left.
