The following day, Akaashi left his house quickly for morning volleyball practice. Bokuto had cheerfully asked him the day before to come, and had texted him at least twenty times last night to remind him.

How cute.

He walked briskly into school and opened the club room door, only to be greeted by a walking owl, also known as Bokuto.

"Hey hey hey!! Akaashi! You made it!!" Bokuto excitedly shouted, earning a smack from Konoha, claiming it was too early to be that loud.

"Hello to you too, Bokuto-san." Akaashi greeted.

"Hurry and get changed! I wanna practice with you!" Bokuto exclaimed.

With... me? That's... sweet.

"For sure, Bokuto-san." He nodded and started changing. Bokuto suddenly froze and looked away, and Akaashi could see him blushing furiously.

What's up with him? Akaashi thought as he put on a blue volleyball shirt.

Suddenly, Komi and Konoha whispered something in Bokuto's ear.

Upon hearing it, Bokuto started turning even redder and starting yelling things like "No! No! You've got it wrong!"

Akaashi could feel a small feeling of embarrassment rising in him. Must be my soulmate again...

Akaashi stared at them curiously and slid past them, saying, "Come on, Bokuto-san."

"A-akaashi- oh yea- hold on-" Bokuto stumbled to get his words as he ran out with Akaashi, grabbing Akaashi's hand and saying, "Yea, let's go!"

Akaashi thought his heart would burst.

As Bokuto's hand clutched Akaashi's wrist, Akaashi stared up at Bokuto and thought,

Wow... so beautiful. His face... is so perfect... I want to kiss him so ba-

Akaashi then shook his head. What am I thinking?! Come on Keiji, get it together...

And ow, Bokuto's grip was strong.

"B-Bokuto-san, my wrist... it hurts." He managed to stutter out.

Bokuto jumped, flustered, "Aah! Sorry! It's a habit! Sorry if I hurt you... wait, ow, my wrist. It stings a little. Well, must be my karma, haha."

Akaashi glanced at him, a little surprised. Again... I'll observe for today. Maybe I'll learn more about this...

"All right, we'll just be playing a simple 3 on 3, form your teams!" Their coach instructed, earning a chorus of "Yes" replies.

"Akaashiiii! Be on my team with Komi-yan!" Bokuto tapped Akaashi's shoulder, excited to start.

"Of course." He agreed and greeted Komi as well.

For the match, they faced off against Konoha, Washio and Sarukui. Bokuto's team was allowed to serve first (due to Bokuto's request).

"Nice serve!" Bokuto served a powerful jump serve, aiming straight for Sarukui. Sarukui received it, but due to the intense serve, the ball sailed back to Akaashi.

"Left!" Bokuto called out. "Bokuto-san!" Akaashi set the ball to Bokuto with ease, and Bokuto slammed a spike through the blockers.

Wow... he really is a star player... Akaashi thought.
