"And you have everything you need??" Daniel asks Ivy as she nods for the fifth time since we got ready to leave. "Yes mom I'm fine. Dad will be with me if I need anything.." She smiles kissing his cheek one more time before pulling away and skipping to me. "Hurry before mom catches me again!" She squeals running to my car as I chuckle and gently hug Daniel.

"It'll be okay." I say softly as I pull away. "But you do look cute as hell when you're worried." I smirk at him as I turn and walk to the car. I don't have to turn around to know his face is bright red.

I chuckle getting in the car and look over at Ivy.

"Now that we're away from your mom." I smile looking at her. "How about before anything else we go get ice cream?" I ask and she nods quickly. "Yes please!" She giggles, putting on her seatbelt. "Today is gonna be awesome she smiles wide as I nod in agreement and begin driving.

"So what she just threw it at you??" I gasp looking at her. So far we had gotten ice cream, fed the ducks at the park, and now we had just gotten Starbucks and are walking around some sort of trail we found. 

"Yes!" She giggles, sipping her drink. "I swear I'd never seen Indi more mad than that moment." She smiles and I chuckle. 

It's so nice being able to hang out and get to know her. She's told me stories all about when they were all little and about her best friend Olivia. She's told me about all of Ashley's boyfriends over the years. That list seemed to just go on and on. She told me about how Zach and Jack had gotten married and how Lavender now has a little brother who is about Six. She said his name is Aaron. She showed me all kinds of pictures of them and of all my friends and her friends. Of Daniel and even some of Finn which I didn't really mind that much since I know he has been such a big part of their lives. Ivy said when he moved in, just before Hazel was born I think is what she said, he basically became like a dad to them. Being 7 she said it was amazing to her that she had a dad but that she's even happier now that I'm back. 

She also said that Indi and Fern are way closer with him than she is. I guessed that by how they reacted the other day.  

"So I know you're only thirteen but do you have anyone you like?" I ask, smiling and she blushes looking off. "C'mon I don't wanna talk about that with my dad.." She shakes her head.

"C'mon just a yes or a no." I smile watching her. As crazy as it sounds I love having the opportunity to embarrass my daughter.

"Yessss." She looks up at me and I smile. "What's his name??" I ask.

"Hey you said yes or no.." She pouts at me and I giggle Abit. "Okay okay at least tell me if he likes you back?" I ask and she looks away and shrugs. "I think so but it's hard to ask that kinda stuff dad.. I'm not exactly great in social situations" She scratches her neck and I nod. "I get that." I smile, watching her.

I remember my first actual crush. It was when I was 13 and it barely went anywhere. He was way too closeted for me back then to deal with.

"One last question." I say and she nods looking at me.

"Yeah?" She asks, tilting her head.

"How fast can you run??" I giggle, grabbing her drink from her hand and running off ahead of her. I hear her scream and giggle as she runs after me.

Today has been perfect.
