Past.... what a simple term, with so much power.
RAIN'S P.O.V.

"I was young when my mom died and the abuse started. Nine to be exact. My father naturally blamed me for my mother's death. He would give me routine beatings every day and wouldn't let me eat anything but a slice of bread each morning. He made me do chores and I wouldn't have minded them so much without a sore starving body and father that didn't love me. I went to school and no one wanted to be my friend because I looked disgusting. I believe him when he started insulting me because they things he said were things that I'd been hearing in the back of my mind for quite some time. I began hating myself a little more day by day... beating by beating. Then one day you found me..." I say simply but my heart aches with sorrow. He holds me tight and begins to sob into my hair.

KABE'S P.O.V.

My heart is broken for the things my mate had endured. I morn for the fact I didn't save her sooner. I grip her close and sob into her beautiful hair. Sabath is howling in the back of my head. His pain and mine blend together. All we want to do is hold our mate near and make her forgive us for our failure to keep her safe. I feel her hold me close and stroke my back in order to comfort me. It helps because I know she's not angry at me though it doesn't lessen my own anger at myself. I curl myself around her protectively and try to process everything.

After about fifteen minutes of completely stillness I take a deep breath. "What he did to you is unacceptable and in no way your fault. I will kill him. But that can wait for after we get settled. I want to invite you into my pack. They will accept you as Luna even before you take on the actually responsibilities. They will love and support you just as I do. We shall leave tomorrow," I say firmly but with kindness.

"Okay," she says seeming to be caught in her thoughts. I leave her to think knowing she needs time to cope. I kiss her forehead softly.

"I'm going to make arrangements. You can do as you please," I say to my little mate and head out of the room with my cell.
