I refuse!
I refuse to ignore your ignorance
towards my constant efforts,
at mending this half sided. relationship.
I refuse!
I refuse to accept your repetitive excuses
for excusing yourself out of my life,
every now and then, without an explanation.
I refuse!
I refuse to let you break me into pieces,
and then offer to fix me with your new thesis,
about how it was all my fault to begin with.
I refuse!
I refuse to let go of my sanity over your vanity,
for I can not abandon myself over and over again
to applaud your every step, not anymore!
I simply refuse,
to let go of me, for you.

This poem always makes me bitter sweet cause it's about a person I thought I loved but of course they never cared.
However it also reminds me that in the end I chose myself over them and worked on myself rather than dwelling on a loss that could never be fixed.
