(this is only part one so nothing TOO exciting but still cute)

He walked around the bar, wiping off tables and stacking empty glasses. Closing time was always pretty peaceful, and all Diluc really wanted to do was go home and rest after a long day of working at the Dawn Winery. It was usually pretty busy, especially later in the week. As Diluc was just about to head back into the kitchen portion of the winery, he saw a flash of blueish green in the very back corner of the large room. Setting the dishes and rag on the counter of the bar, he walked over to investigate.

He had been expecting a stray brightly colored  coat or hat, maybe even a Hydro Slime that had snuck in during the midday rush, but what he found was none of those things. The snoring form of a bard struck him as familiar. Teal braids, fast asleep...

Venti?

Of course. He was constantly at Dawn Winery until closing time, and today was no exception. Diluc sighed. He wasn't going home early after all. He lightly poked Venti's head, but got no response other than more deep snoring. He poked harder, but still nothing. Quickly putting away the rest of the dishes and his rag, Diluc pondered what he should do.

He could always just leave the bard at the table and wake him up in the morning when he came to open, but that thought quickly soured in his mind. It felt wrong to just leave him there overnight. Well, Diluc might just have something in mind. Making sure not to wake him, Diluc carefully lifted his legs, scooping him up into his arms. However, he was much too heavy, even for Diluc's strong arms. Venti landed back in his chair with a thud, but somehow still didn't wake up.

Diluc sighed. Time for Plan B. Walking swiftly to the back of the bar, Diluc grabbed a thin blanket from inside one of the cabinets. He kept it there just in case he got too cold in the winter, and for parading flies out of the building. He went back to Venti and laid the blanket over him, tucking the corners under him so that it would stay put. This was going to be a long, long night.

Diluc settled himself into the chair opposite him, and laid his head down on the table. Normally, this would be uncomfortable enough that he wouldn't stay, but for Venti he was certain he would do almost anything. Just before his tired eyes slipped shut into a world of dreams, he felt warmth on top of his hand that was resting on the table. The warmth of a hand.
