Jaylin is sitting on a bench eating his corn dog when a girl sit next to him.

Iris: "Shit its hot in that crappy ass dorm."

She looks at Jaylin and smiles.

Iris: "You're cute. I haven't seen you before."

Jaylin wipes his mouth and swallows.

Jaylin: "Thanks but I'm-"

Iris: "I know."

Jaylin: "Is it that obvious?"

Iris: "Girl duh."

Jaylin laughs and Iris joins.

Jaylin: "You're cute too."

Iris: "Thanks love. You must be a freshman?"

Jaylin: "Do I look like a freshmen? I just transferred here with my best friend."

Iris: "Well where is this best friend?"

Jaylin: "He got snatched by some guy and his girlfriend."

Iris: "As long as its not Lee and Selena he should be good."

Jaylin: "Selena? The pretty hood girl?"

Iris: "That would be her."

Jaylin: "I saw her earlier. She must have introduced Cardo to him. Why should I be worried?"

Iris: "I don't know I just heard a lot of rumors-"

Selena comes over with her corn dog.

Selena: "Rumors ouuu. I love gossip who are we talking about?"

Iris looks down.

Iris: "No one. Um Jaylin take my number down. I have to go to the resident office and figure out my dorm situation before its too late. Talk later?"

Jaylin: "Yeah girl for sure."

She writes down her number and hugs him goodbye.

Selena: "Bye Iris."

She walks away and doesn't say anything.

Jaylin: "You know her?"

Selena: "We used to be best friends."

Jaylin: "What happened? I mean if you want to tell me."

Selena smiles.

Selena: "Its okay. I like you. We were childhood friends. We did everything together until last year. She was actually supposed to be my roommate this semester. She wants a new roommate. It sucks having your best friend hate you."

Jaylin: "What happened last year?"

Selena: "I met Lee."

Jaylin: "Lee is a popular name today. But why is she upset you found love?"

Selena: "Between me and you he can be controlling sometimes. Its Lee's way or no way."

Jaylin sees the rings on her finger.

Jaylin: "You're engaged?"

Selena: "Yeah I am. He is the typical bad boy but I know he loves me and has my back. He knew I was the one six months in. He proposed over the summer. I told Iris and she freaked."

Jaylin: "She's your best friend why isn't she happy for you?"

Selena: "Maybe another time. I should go but nice talking to you."
