In Love With Danger ( FINISHED)

INITIATION & NEW ROOMMATES PART ONE

Iris and Selena show up at the new apartment with the car filled with their stuff.

Selena: "This place is nice. Did you know it would be this big?"

Iris: "I had no idea. Look I don't need you causing trouble."

Selena: "You mean my crush on Cardo?"

Iris: "Just behave yourself girl now come on. The boys are waiting."

She begins to walk but Selena stops her.

Selena: "How do I look?"

Iris laughs.

Iris: "Girl that don't matter right now. Grab your stuff."

They walk in to Jaylin and Cardo giggling while eating cereal. They both look at the girls.

Selena: "Hi Cardo. Hi Jaylin."

Cardo: "What's up ladies."

Iris: "Thank you for letting us live with you."

Jaylin: "Hello no thank you for helping with the rent its not cheap."

Selena: "So Cardo-"

Jaylin and Iris look at Selena.

Iris: "Where is our room?"

Jaylin: "Let me show you. Come now Selena."

They all laugh while Cardo finishes his cereal. Jaylin walks them to their room.

Jaylin: "You guys have the biggest room since its two of you. Make yourselves comfortable. You can paint the walls or decorate however you want. I'll be downstairs if you need me."

They both nod and Jaylin goes back downstairs.

Cardo: "Two girls huh?"

Jaylin: "Rent money is rent money Cardo. You need to find a job to cover your end."

Cardo: "I have one."

Jaylin: "Really where?"

Cardo: "Don't worry about that just know I have my end of rent covered. You talking about me you need a job."

Jaylin: "I have a internship at that marketing agency remember? Its a paid gig. If they like me it can be the start of my career."

Cardo smiles.

Cardo: "I'm so proud of you. You are doing all the things you set out to do for yourself."

Jaylin: "I'm just happy I get to spend time with my best friend."

Cardo: "Me too."

Iris and Selena come down.

Iris: "Get a room."

Selena: "Share the cereal come on!"

They all chat and eat together.

Iris and Selena leave for their first class of the day leaving Jaylin and Cardo to themselves.

Cardo: "We should hang out sometime this week when we are both free."

Jaylin: "Just the two of us are you sure?"

Cardo: "Yeah it'll be fun."

Jaylin: "Just text me the details."

Cardo's phone buzzes.

Jaylin: "Who was that?"

Cardo: "Nobody look I have to get to campus, talk later?"

Jaylin: "Sure. Oh and Cardo whatever secret you're hiding I'll find out. Have a good day."

Cardo walks out the apartment complex.

L: Get your ass on campus so we can schedule initiation I have class soon.

Cardo swallows.

CAMPUS

He walks up to see Lee by himself.

Lee: "About time damn. What were you doing taking your time? Man sit down."

Cardo sits down.

Cardo: "I would have thought the whole gang would be here."

Lee laughs.

Lee: "Nah that's only when we have meetings about job sessions or important business. So we have two days available for the first part of initiation the mob beating."

Cardo: "Mob beating?"

Lee: "Yeah its where you do your sacrifice. You turn your life to the gang. We become your brothers we looks after you. You work and get a cut simple. You become one of the boys. After part one you have to say a oath promising to not reveal us to the police. After that you get your schedule and pick a corner."

Cardo: "I'm really going to be selling drugs?"

Lee: "We all do man its apart of the process. So we can either do this tonight or tomorrow you choose."

Cardo: "Can we do tomorrow? I want to hang out with my best friend one last time before I look all abused and shit."

Lee: "I understand. We all have that one person whos our weakness. That one person we want to do right by even when we know we are making the wrong decisions."

Cardo: "Do you have that person?"

Lee: "No I fucked that up. Hey man promise me something?"

Cardo: "Uh okay."

Lee: "Don't let that one person go. Fight for them and always show them the good, okay? Do you have that person?"

Cardo: "I guess my best friend."

Lee: "Guess I have to met him someday. You have my word that as long as you obey me I'll never hurt him. After everything I learned about you he must be a pretty awesome dude."

Cardo smiles.

Cardo: "Yeah he is. Look I have to do something. What time tomorrow?"
 
Lee: "8 pm. Don't be late."

Cardo pulls out his phone.

C: You free tonight?

J: Yeah why?

C: Lets hang tonight!

J: Just us?

C: Duh you're my only friend.

J: Where to?

C: Leave that up to me.

J: What time?

C: 8

J: Okay Cardo.

Jaylin bits his lip and Cardo smiles. He closes his phone.
