(~Narrator's POV + Time Skip~)

It had been awfully quiet and peaceful for a while, until now. Y/N slowly woke up in a haze, hearing something breaking through the protective box. Pieces of the bone walls started to crack and chip off, being brutally hit from the outside. There were sounds of voices, too muffled to decipher whether it was friends or foes.

With her senses clouded, all she could do was listen and watch as rays of bright light crawled through the growing cracks. Her body ached, she was tired. She couldn't stay awake for long, exhaustion draining away the little energy she had left.

(~Time Skip Again~)

A large shock of pain abruptly threw me back to reality. It's coming from my soul.

'Something's in my soul.'

Half conscious, I can only see two dark figures besides me and a blinding light. One of them screams something and tries to hold me down. I cry out in pain and tears, grabbing onto their arm with a strong death grip. The figure who I've grabbed is the one who's also keeping me restrained. They turn to the other, shouting, "You said she wouldn't wake up from this!" "Doesn't matter right now! Keep her down. She won't get better if she pulls the needle out. We need to keep it in her soul or she dies."

'Horror and Dust...'

My vision cleared a bit more, and I confirm my guess is right. My hand is firmly gripped onto Horror, violently trembling. The bright light is from the flashlight on Dust's phone.

'What the heck are they doing...?'

I whine loudly, throwing my head back and hitting it against a hard surface. It hurts so much. I thought my wounds were an unbearable pain, but WHATEVER THIS IS makes my mind beg to die faster. Horror immediately reacts, worried, "Y/N, don't do that! You'll hurt yourself further!"

Dust apologizes, "I'm sorry. We couldn't find anything that could numb all of the pain in time. We worked on stitching and healing your other injuries.. While we were doing that, your soul started to freak out and got close to snapping. We-... We didn't have another option.."

It took me a minute to notice what was going on. I'm in a dark room, looks like we're still in this hospital or lab place. I'm placed on a stretcher bed, my soul hovering in front of me. It's throbbing so loud that I can hear it. The cracks had gotten worse while I was out.

Dust is firmly holding a syringe inserted into my soul, bright purple liquid sitting inside of it. I can't look at it for more than three seconds before looking away. My soul is so sensitive and busted up to begin with, of course that's the reason why such a small thing feels like absolute torture.

"What.. is that?" My voice comes out in a low and distressed whine. Dust sighs, "Humans have different types of blood, so doctors have to keep a stock of each one for emergencies. Same concept here except with soul types. This is a lab. Fortunately, the scientist that lived here had a stash that wasn't destroyed. This is liquid perseverance. It'll help heal your soul, but it can be very painful to administer without some sort of painkillers."

'Ya don't say! I'm seriously contemplating strangling you after this!'

My soul feels like it's on fire if not worse. It's hard to even describe the pain I'm in. I don't even know how this is supposed to help if my soul is snapping apart already. I try not to scream when another shock of pain hits me. I take a sharp breath in and clench my grip, nearly snapping Horror's wrist.

Horror's in pain as he screams, "OW! Y/N Y/N Y/N GEEZ-" He slams his other hand on the bed repeatedly, looks down, and tries keeping his mouth shut.
