A couple of hours later Lexa finally opened her eyes, the room was still blurry and she gave herself a few more seconds to get used to the light coming from outside. A glimpse of blonde hair caught her attention and she noticed the girl asleep next to her, Clarke's head was still resting in the mattress and Lexa instantly smiled.
She felt better but she didn't want to wake the girl up so she just stood still, admiring how the blonde's back would rise everytime she breathed in. Lexa closed her eyes again for a few moments, scenes of that night flashed in her mind, the pain, the screams, the rush of anger. She wondered how they got to the hospital, she remembered passing out on the floor but all that had happened in between that and when she woke up in that bed was a mystery. Lexa looked at Clarke again and met her blue eyes, she was awake.
