Delilah

I chuckle when the girl on the screen gets her throat torn apart by the monster. "Idiot." I roll my eyes and glance at my phone when it begins to ring. I'm shocked to see Piper's name and hurry to answer it, "Hey princess." I smile. "I thought we agreed to be good until your punishment ends."

I can imagine the frown on Piper's face.

"I told you to stop calling me that."

"You like it." I reply.

"Whatever." She pauses. "Come to my house but park down the street and walk-up. Meet me in the backyard. I'll be in the treehouse. Mom will never climb up." She then hangs up the phone.

I hurry and grab my things and rush out of the house. I speed all the way to her house and follow her strict directions. I climb up into the huge treehouse and immediately pull Piper into a kiss. "Damn." I whisper against her lips. "How the fuck did I not think of this first."

"Delilah." She hums against my lips. "Wait." She gently pushes me back.

I cock my head to the side and mutter, "Sorry." I plant another kiss onto her lips. "I missed you."

She kisses me back, "I've missed you too but something is wrong."

I arch my eyebrow and take a few steps back nervously. This is it. She is breaking up with me.

Piper inhales and I wait for the worse to come. "I think my mom is losing her company."

I exhale gratefully that she's not leaving me but then snap to attention a few seconds later, "Wait what—WE is her baby. Literally."

Piper's shoulders sag in defeat, "From what I've heard—another company is trying to merge both companies into partnership. But mom knows that once they are merged—she will lose complete control over the magazine." Piper eyebrows knit together. "Now it makes sense to why Jacob called us enemies earlier before going out for coffee—"

"—you had coffee with Jacob and didn't tell me?"

"Do you have to always make everything about you?" Piper hisses.

I roll my eyes, "I'm your girlfriend, Piper." I pause. "You're getting coffee with your ex. How would you feel if I got dinner with Nicole and didn't tell you?"

Piper turns red at the name. "It's not the same." She clenches her jaw.

I huff, "Whatever."

"It's. not. the. same." Piper repeats breaking up the words. "Jacob and I never had sex."

I bark out a sarcastic laugh.

"I never loved him." Piper continues with a frown. "You know I don't want him like that. You and Nicole are different."

"So, just Nicole?" I cock my head to the side. "I never had sex with Jace—

"Fine. I get it." Piper rolls her eyes. "I'll remember to let you know next time. I'm sorry I was too occupied stopping Jacob from outing Aiden."

"Why would that idiot out him?" I then pause. "Wait—Aiden is gay?"

"Yeah. He's in love with Jacob." Piper replies.

"Wow." I then start laughing. "I knew he was always coming off too strong when it came to women."

"It's not funny. Aiden is a dick sure, but no one deserves to be outed."
