Summary: After a long day at work, Javier comes to pick you up.

You watched as he rolled up his sleeves before he started the car. His car smelled just like him, tobacco and the cologne you bought him as a gift.

Javier was kind enough to drive to your home once your shift was over to bring you home.

Ever since work came around of a woman who got attacked on her way home, Javi wanted to keep you safe. Every night he would drive you home even if he has to get back to the office after he dropped you off.

Your relationship with him started off as a simple fling. He was handsome and brought you a drink, and you let him into your home after that.

It was probably the best thing you have ever done.

Your relationship started off with only sex. But when one morning, he didn't leave, you two got to know each other a lot more. You spoke over a cup of coffee and found out there is more to the other than meets the eye.

All Javier saw, in the beginning, is a sexy woman he can have sex with, and all you saw is a handsome man you can have sex with.

But that morning, you saw the DEA agent who had so many demons. And Javier saw a kind, gentle and amazing woman, someone he would love to arrive back to.

And so, he planned on keeping you safe. He planned to have a future with you, something he never thought he would ever want with someone. But here he was, sleeves rolled up to his elbow, one hand on the wheel, the other holding yours as he drove you home.

"Do you have to go back to the office?" you asked when he stopped at a light.

He hummed.

"I can whip up something quickly, you can bring it with yourself, you need to eat Javi,"

"I think we both know I wouldn't be able to leave if I go in." he smiled.

"Then, at least bring the leftovers with you from yesterday."

"The chicken?"

"Yes. I have it in a Tupperware. I run in and get it for you." you watched as he smiled, but he didn't say no.

Once he parked up and stopped the car, you rushed out and into your apartment to get the food for him. You even made a mug of coffee just so he wouldn't drink whiskey and then drive. You poured the coffee into a thermos and packed up the food and a fork for him before you headed out. He was out of the car, smoking when you got out.

"You can microwave the food in the box if you want, I put a fork in there for you. And here is some coffee. Get home safe."

"You are an angel. Thank you. I was thinking, it shouldn't be more than a couple of hours, can I come here instead of my place?"

"I'm ahead of you. I put a spare ring of keys in there for you. The blue is the front gate and the green is my door."

"You really are an angel, thank you." he grabbed the paper bag from your hand and leaned down to kiss you. You put your hands around his neck before kissing him back. Although the taste of tobacco first irritated you, you learned to like it, if it was him. "I have to go now."

"Be safe, I will wait for you," you said as you waved and he got in the car. When he didn't leave just looked at you, you turned around and walked into the building. He wanted to be sure you are safe, he only left once you waved at him and closed the door behind yourself.

You headed back to your apartment and made yourself dinner.

Javier arrived later than he was meant to. Although it was barely 1am, he was meant to be there two hours ago. It felt weird for him to open your door like it was his, but he liked it.

He found you in the living room, barely awake watching some night TV show.

"Javi, you're home."

Home, a word he could barely recognize.

"I am. Let's get you to bed." he picked you up and after turning the TV off the two of you got to the bedroom. He put you under the covers, kissing your forehead before he headed to take a shower.

Although your strawberry scented body wash was not his style, he didn't mind as much as he thought he would.

Once he got out of the shower he walked to the bed, finding you long asleep. He got under the covers, pulled you close to his chest before he too fell asleep.

All he could think about how he would love to spend every night like this.
