I banished my father a few years ago into a hellish gem that no one can touch except for me. He had escaped the the first one I put him in which was much larger than the one he is now. He has brought that upon himself being that he is the one who granted Damian Wayne's grandfather Ra's Al Ghul hellish life. When I had returned to the hellish dimensional plane to return my father to the gem Ra's Al Ghul broke it, shattering it into pieces in his attempt to stop me, and letting my father destroy Earth.
After my father was placed back into a fraction of the gem he was weak, but recently he has been feeding off my power and starting to weaken me for his next escape.
Damian Wayne was another story in itself. But to put it simply I was the only one who understood him and he was the only one to understand me. He gave me hope.
