Jaekyu
I had signed a contract with YG Entertainment to become a idol group manager when I was in Korea the previous year. I came back this year, from my daily life in Japan, to start my job as the CEO had called me to start work. Although I wanted to be a singer, I gave it up as I was offered to work as a manager. However, I didn't expect to come to Korea and start the journey this badly the moment I arrived. Ugh, that dude, really, he was definitely very good-looking but who would have thought he had such a rude and condescending personality. Regardless, I figured it wasn't the time to be rambling and ranting about such things as I needed to get to YG Entertainment as fast as possible for I was getting late to the promised time.
"So iKON, you guys are debuting soon. I know I said you guys were going to debut on January this year but I delayed it. The reason is, one of them is, of course, because Koo Junhoe just joined today. Furthermore, your debut album is not completed yet."
"Another reason is because you guys had not gotten a manager assigned to your group. But now, we do. Please come in, Manager Koo," I heard Mr Yang reason out with his trainees from outside.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Koo Jaekyu. I am 18 years old this year," I introduced myself humbly and looked at the members of YG Entertainment's newest formation, iKON.
I was appalled to know that the man I had quarreled with at the airport was one of them. He was the same, with his eyes seemingly about to pop out from their sockets because of opening them widely and his jaws hanging as if they were going to fall off.
"Oh my god! It's you!" We jinxed as we said the same thing at the same exact time while the rest of the people in the room was confused about the current situation.
We then sat down by the words of the CEO, talking about rules and regulations. The whole time, I wanted to flip the table just to hit his damn face but I had to stay composed, just to force myself to not get fired on my first day. We then started working together after the meeting, with me just looking at them practicing and advising them as much as possible for the best performance. I was still on enemy basis with the male who was introduced to me as Koo Junhoe.
About a month later, the boys I was in charge of actually ended up debuting after their full album was complete. I was busy arranging the boys' schedules, making sure there were no overlaps. It was also unbelievable that I was in a relationship with my sassy boyfriend, Koo Junhoe, especially since we first met on a hate basis. Some of the staff at the company actually thought we were married because we had the same surname. I chuckled every time someone said such nonsense because it would be disobeying the contract rules for both the idols and managers. Not that we were disregarding the fact that we were dating in secret despite the contract saying that idols were not allowed to date 3 years into their career or that the managers weren't allowed to date the idols from the company.
"Why did he write a message to meet me at the rooftop? Oh my god, is he going to confess?" My heart had palpitated noisily, back when he was planning to confess to me.
I walked slowly to the to the rooftop, seeing Junhoe and a bouquet of flowers behind his back. I spazzed looking at the scene of the man who was good-looking even with sweat dripping down his face while he was waiting for me in the hot sun.
I tapped his shoulder, "Koo Junhoe! What are you doing?"
He turned around and confessed, "Jaekyu, I love you, will you be my girlfriend?"
I went ahead and answered Junhoe, " I accept it and I love you too."
The atmosphere felt awkward with a mixture of embarrassment and joy. I hugged him and he spun me around. That was how our love confession went.
At the moment, I was just walking around the company after I was finished arranging the boys' schedules when a colleague, specifically the CEO's secretary, called me to the CEO's office. A feeling of worry overcame me without reason.
"Manager Koo, do you know why you are here?" Mr Yang asked me as I stood there in a state of blankness.
"No. I'm not really sure." I responded.
He then, retorted back at me, " I found out that you are dating Koo Junhoe. Is that true?"
I was going to get fired.
"Yes. You're correct." I answered back to him in guilt.
"You have disobeyed the contract rules, which automatically means that you're fired. Here's your last paycheck and please don't come back here again; or meet the boys. I can't believe I trusted you with the boys," he criticised me, looking vexed.
I thanked him for all he has done for me despite disappointing him, and begged his pardon. I had lost my job. I also figured that it was the last time I would see Junhoe, ever.
