Amara's pov
A few hours later
"So you got a job just like that?" Scotty questioned as i just nodded my head in response.
"That's awesome!" he smiled as he opened the diner door for me.
"Thanks." i responded as we walked towards a table.
"So does your sister know?"
"No." i laughed.
"Know about what?" Kenny joined our conversation as he sat next to me.
"Mar got a job at the Valley Mart."
"Really?" Kenny cheered for me.
"Let me go get milkshakes to celebrate." Kenny immediately stood up and walked into the kitchen.
"Is Benny here?" Scotty asked as Florence walked by us.
"Yeah... he's taking his ten minute break in the back. But that should be over soon."
she smiled at us.
"Oh okay."
Perfect timing. There Benny was, walking back inside the diner happy as ever.
I watched as his eyes brightened once he saw us.
"How long have you been here?" he slid into the seat next to Scotty.
"Just got here. Kenny is making us milkshakes to celebrate."
"Celebrate Mar getting a job."
"No way you got a job?" Benny's eyes widened as i nodded in response.
"Yeah i wanted to help Crystal with the bills."
"Congrats Mar! I'm proud of you." he gave me a big smile.
"Thank you." we made eye contact for a while until Kenny showed up with 4 milkshakes.
"Okay so my dad is letting me borrow the car this weekend. So what is the plan?" Kenny questioned.
"With all the guys?" i took a sip of my shake.
"Yeah. Bertram got his license a few weeks back and finally got a car. So we'd fit 5 people in each car."
"Well i can't. I have work and I gotta help Florence with something that day." Benny spoke up.
