Grinning from ear to ear, Sophie practically skipped over to the refreshments table, laughing at the slightly confused expressions some of her friends faces held as she leaped past them. She wasn't completely sure why she was so happy, but she wasn't complaining. Reaching the table, she poured herself a cup of lushberry juice, and had just taken a sip when a different voice from last time someone had said it to her sounded from behind her;

"Care for a dance?"

Setting down her cup on the table, Sophie turned to find Keefe standing behind her, a crooked grin on his face and a hand outstretched towards her. And unlike the other time she had been asked to dance that night, she smiled a real smile and nodded taking his hand in hers. He led her to a corner of the dancefloor, right beside a wall of windows that displayed the starry night sky.

She laid her hand on his shoulder, and he put his on her waist, taking her other hand with his free one. And as she gazed up into his warm ice blue eyes, she realized just how right this felt. At the thought, she looked down at their shoes to hide her blush. But when she saw how close their slowly moving feet were to each other, it only drew attention to how near they were to each other, causing her blushing to intensify. Looking back up at Keefe, Sophie almost laughed as she saw the faint pink colouring his cheeks. It made her feel a bit better to know that she made Keefe just as flustered as he made her.

And it gave her the confidence to rest her other hand on his shoulder, and wrap her arms around his neck, as they continued to sway gently. His arms were now wrapped loosely around her waist, and they stayed like that for the rest of the song, half hugging, half dancing. Even when the song ended, they just stood still, standing there embracing each other tightly. His warm breath rustled her hair, and she tightened her hold slightly, transmitting;

So, are you feeling better now?

He nodded, and she took that as an invitation to open her mind to his forefront thoughts. (AN: Sophie's are in italics, Keefe's are bolded)

Yeah. You?

Yeah.

Keefe laughed. We seem to be saying the word yeah, a lot.

Sophie couldn't help it. Yeah.

This time, they both cracked up.

So earlier, did you-did you mean what you said?

Sophie was once again tempted to answer with yeah but she didn't want Keefe to think she was joking when she answered. So instead she said the next best thing. Yes.

Keefe pulled away slightly, beaming the widest smile she had ever seen. His eyes were practically glowing with joy, as he said both in his mind and in real life, "Really?"

She nodded, fidgeting nervously with her dress sleeve. "Do you...Do you feel the same way?"

Keefe let out a slightly bitter laugh. "Definitely. I have for years actually," he admitted, looking away from her.

Sophie almost gasped. Years? "How many?"

Keefe turned bright red as he answered, "Eight? Nine maybe?"

This time Sophie actually did gasp. "Why didn't you say anything?"

In answer, Keefe gestured over to where Fitz stood across the room. Sophie understood.

"Soooo..." Keefe said, sounding slightly nervous, which was a very unlike thing for Keefe to be. "Now that we both know... Would you like to go on a date with me? And also might I add that even if you say no this is still probably the best day I've ever had?"
