George was perfectly fine in the situation he was in, who wouldn't be?
He understood that Dream was clingy, everyone understood that. It was a very widespread joke with everyone, that Dream clung to George like a leech.
And necessarily, it wasn't wrong.
Dream had a tendency to cling onto people he trusted, cling onto his friends. Although it was mostly with George, he also would cling to the people he was closest with in calls with people he didn't recognize. But, it's still mostly George. He always wanted to be on calls with George, always singled out his voice, George always had to have been the first person to laugh at his jokes, and Dream had to be the first to his.
That's just how it worked. That's how their little bubble of friendship worked.
And George was fine with it!It only... became a slight issue when they started to date.
George couldn't seem to catch a second alone with another man before Dream popped into call, a bubbly, golden voice masking his anger. Anger he'd get when he heard George's laugh with another person, the anger he had when he heard the soft sounds of George being confused or flustered, noises reserved for only him, that he was seemingly sharing with the world.
And George couldn't stay mad at him, not even when he had interrupted important things (only God knows why George added him to the business group chats with his manager in the first place). He couldn't stay mad when he heard the anger in his voice, something that he could spot out only. He couldn't stay mad when he knew that anger could be reverted onto him later. So sure, it was an issue, but it never was a big issue. It never left George in uncomfortable situations (if he was uncomfortable around his boyfriend that would be the actual issue). He never felt obligated to talk to him, he never pushed him to leave.
And people liked having him around, he was funny when needed, serious when needed. He made the right jokes, made people happy, did cute things you'd have to strain to see.So it wasn't an issue.
Well, until tonight. It was a normal Quackity stream.
One of the ones where he was calmed, chilled, where he took a break from exhausting, overplanned (in his opinion) lore. These streams were his personal favorites, they felt like him hanging out with his friends. Felt like him just being himself around people how liked that about him. This one was no different, well, if you didn't count the lack of sleep Karl had.
It was Quackity, Karl, and George, at seven a.m. George's time. Of course he was wide awake, this was a normal time for him (cue late night to early morning fifteen hour calls).
Sleep was something that a lot of content creators cherished without really ever getting.
Example one: Karl.
It was obvious he was tired. The yawns every five seconds and slurred words definitely proved George's theory right.
With Karl's drowsiness came another thing, his flirtiness.
And, of course, they were respectful of the relationship. Well respectful enough to not leak the relationship to Twitter or chat. That doesn't mean they didn't flirt with George at every given chance. And George was fine with it, they made him laugh and gave the audience a good dynamic to watch, flirty people getting rejected by a stubborn boy. It was fun!
"Oh George, you're so hot!"
"Oh George, marry me!"
"Oh gogy, please cu-"
"Don't- say that!" George cut with a wheeze. "Stop!"
Karl and Quackity laughed loudly, George following and it was enough to make them lightheaded, give them rib aches.
Quackity turned to see chat going crazy. "Karl you- You can't say that!" Quackity pushed through laughs.
"Why not?"
"What do you mean?" George questioned, "that's so nasty!"
