If Humans Knew

Chapter 8

Zuri

I am alive, we are alive. JJ and Zuri back from the dead, just the thought, just the feeling is sooooo amazing, to have a beating heart, lungs full with air, even to be able to move my finger even in a very small way feels so amazing. But I was dead, on the long stairway to heaven and then passed though heavens gates and the dead's whispering voices welcoming me into the afterlife. Than I come tumbling down the stairs again getting pulled back toward the light and my soul getting placed back in my body and I'm alive again, but the question is how am I alive?

So many questions about how we are still alive even though we were dead. JJ and I are just going home. But we have know idea where we are. When we died at least we knew where we where. It looks like we where in a doctor's surgery or a scientist's lab. JJ and I woke up on silver metal tables and looking into blinding lights. Maybe they saved us by some miracle. We got out of the 'doctors' without being noticed except for a guy who called out to us.

So now were out side a newsstand waiting for the assistant to help the rest of its customers so she can tell us where in the world we are!

When we finally get to the top of the line the cashier gives us a disgusted look, I look down at my self. O my lord, I am in my hunting gear with demon blood and my blood splattered all over me!

The cashier looks at us again and smiles "It's a bit early for Halloween, is it not?" She gives JJ a wink, that's when I glare at her, the cashier looks around 20 years old and has died black hair and blue eyes but she has very pail white skin that makes her look even paler. JJ looked at me and gave me a teasing smile, he knows I hate it when other girls hit on him, doesn't every girl hate it when somebody hits on their boyfriend?

"So," she says biting her lip looking straight at JJ "what do you want?" She says still not moving her eyes from JJ and completely ignoring me.

"Well, we" JJ gestures to me," are just wondering where we are, we where in my car and our GPS took us to the wrong place and we don't know where it has taken us." He lies.

"Oh," the cashier says, "You have a car!" At that moment the store manager that looks around 40 comes up behind the cashier and flicks her on the ear. There is resemblance between their faces, must be a mother and daughter.

"Sorry about Cece, a recently single 20 year old. A mother's worst nightmare except for her old punk rock and gothic boyfriend... Anyway, what can I do for you?" The manager says staring at a computer screen. While JJ says our fake situation to the store manger I have a quick look around my shoulder, the only thing remotely interesting that's happening is that 'Cece' is flirting with another guy, there is some news paper boxes stacked up on top of each other and than some magazines and the daily news paper on shelves, I walk over to have a closer look at the magazine cover, apparently Tyler Oakley died his hair for the fiftieth time, the title of the magazine is: 50 shades of Tyler Oakley.

As I head toward the magazine stand, I see a small and very old T.V.

Breaking News: Two teens that where drained of blood and dead and corpses found in an unused underground train station two days ago. We have just found out that they're bodies have been stolen from the National scientist centre in.... The T.V goes blank and then a goes a fuzzy grey colour starts makinga very loud buzzing noise.

"Oh for peed sake" I hear Cece say, looking at the T.V. She comes over to me and looks at me up and down like she wants to pick a fight with me but I am about a foot taller than her. She glares at me and hits the T.V and it flashes back on and there are pictures of our bodies on the screen with our faces pixelated. I looked at Cece who is looking at me in horror. Crap.

"Operators of the centre say that the security footage had been down for safety reasons. Those reasons have not been supplied to us yet. There are lots of holes in the story about why people would steal dead bodies, but the police are investigating why at this very moment. Police ask if you have seen anything suspicious around this area please notify them. "

My jaw dropped and my eyes bulged. I look at Cece, she is still looking at me. Oh no.

"Nothing interesting ever happens around here." Says Cece diving for the phone.
