3 months along

Nell hated it, more than she ever thought she would. She tried and failed to fit into her favourite vintage dress and was slumped on their bed on the verge of tears.

She pulled herself together and instead pulled one of Eric's hoodies and an old pair of jeans out of the closet.

The jumper was oversized but gave her the desired effect over her best tank top which now rid up to show about half of her rounded stomach. The jeans however, were a bit more tricky, Nell could get them on perfectly fine but doing them up was a problem.

"Shit!" She hollered. Eric came rushing in, he wasn't wearing a shirt and he had his toothbrush still in his mouth.

"Are you okay" he asked his face full of concern.

"I am not okay, my favourite jeans won't fit" she said Half heartedly expecting Eric to tell her to just wear something looser.

"Let me show you something, it's a trick Sam taught me" He reached for an elastic band from the dresser, replacing the space where it had been with his toothbrush and sat down next to her on the bed. "you see you tie one end round the button hole and you loop the other round the button and Walah, your favourite jeans are now maternity ready"

"That's genius" Nell said pulling down the hoodie and looking at herself in the mirror.

"I do have one problem" Eric said dropping his arms round her shoulders and resting his hands on her stomach.

"Oh what's that" Nell asked cheekily.

"My hoodie, practically hides all mention of the precious cargo your carrying"

"Fine, I will wear something different" Nell said irritably.

"Wear this" Eric said retreating from her arms and pulling a small bag from under their bed and handing it too her at arms length like a bomb that was about to explode.

"What is it" Nell asked.

"I know you have been apprehensive about buying any maternity clothing, so I decided to go get you something and so I asked Hetty and she let me have this from wardrobe" he smiled cautiously and was met by an equally cautious smile from Nell.

Nell opened the bag and lifted out a pristinely clean light blue blouse. That was pleated around the stomach area, and was a size bigger than what Nell usually war.

"Do you like it." Eric asked.

"I love it" Nell yelled launching herself at Eric, wrapping her arms round his neck.

"Right change, and I will make your favourite breakfast" Eric said pulling his Spider-Man t-shirt out of the wardrobe.

"Toaster Waffles, with Chocolate spread" Nell asked.

"Okay" Eric answered heading for the bedroom door.

"And I want kiwi on it" Nell said wit a thoughtful look on her face.

"But Nell you hate kiwi"

"I want Kiwi on it and that is the end of the discussion, Eric" Nell said sternly. Eric raised his arms in mock defence and went to prepare breakfast.

Nell looked down at her stomach. " You know I hate Kiwi and yet you make me want it"

Nell slipped on the blouse, she really did love it. Hetty really did have great taste. The stretchy blue cotton hugged every curve of her pregnant body but left room for growth, it was also long enough to cover the extended button trick that Eric had done on her jeans.
