Michael stares at me, bewildered, as he clearly tries to process the information I've just given him.
"Repeat," he says starkly, his wide eyes staring into mine.
I take his hand a gently place it on my lower stomach before wiping the tears from my face.
"We're going to have a baby, Michael," I smile softly, "I'm pregnant. You're going to be a father."
He looks down to his hand on my stomach, back up into my eyes and then his brows shoot up.
"I'm going to be... a father?" he asks slowly, a smile slowly spreading across his face.
"Yes," I smile bashfully as pure content overwhelms him.
"Yes!" he exclaims, throwing himself on top of me.
"Oof!" I grunt as he hugs my waist with his head on my stomach, "Still injured here, babe," I remind him.
"Sorry," he apologizes quickly before showering my stomach with kisses and laughing all the while, "I'm going to be a father!" he exclaims.
I guess the news was heard from outside of the door, because both my parents, Janet and my brother make their way into my room with ecstatic looks on all of their faces.
"YOU'RE PREGNANT!" my Mother and Janet scream at the same time.
"This is fantastic!" my Mother exclaims as tears fill her eyes.
"Here we go," I sigh, rubbing the bridge of my nose as Michael continues talking to my stomach like a crazy person.
"My baby's having a baby!" my Mother cries happily, making her way over to me and wrapping her arms around my shoulders.
"Look at my Bambini, all grown up," my Father grins as he wraps his arm around Jesse and shakes him a bit.
"I'm going to be an aunt!" Janet exclaims, clapping her hands together.
"I'm going to be an uncle," Jesse smiles brightly, throwing me a wink. I smile at the two men before looking to Janet who is now on the verge of tears, soon to join my Mother in this cry fest.
"I can't believe I'm going to be a father," Michael sighs as tears brim in his eyes as well.
"Jesus, now I'm gonna start crying," I whimper as my bottom lip starts to quiver.
"Oh God, here we go," my brother says sarcastically as the four of us cry while my brother and Father watch the theatrics.
"I love you," Michael sniffles as tears run down my cheeks, "I love you so much."
He stands over me and leans down to kiss my lips longingly as Janet cries loudly and my Mother bawls into my lap.
"I love you too," I smile, my cheeks turning red, as Michael showers my face with kisses.
"Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity," he sighs, kissing my lips again, "You know how much it means to me."
Michael wipes the tears from my face before doing the same to his before going over to Janet and wrapping his arms around her.
"You're going to be an aunt, Dunk," he says happily, hugging her tightly.
"I'm so happy for you both," she sniffles.
"Congratulations, both of you," Jesse smiles, making his way over to Michael to shake his hand and then to me to wrap me in his arms.
I look over Jesse's shoulder as he hugs me to find my Father shaking Michael's hand and giving him a bit of advice. My brother pulls away as Michael makes his way over to my Mother and wraps her up tightly in his arms.
"Congratulations," my Mother smiles, pulling away from Michael's embrace before turning back to me, "I love you, baby," she smiles brightly, kissing both of my cheeks before pulling me into a tight hug.
"I love you, Mumma," I sigh, trying not to let my emotions get the best of me.
"Bambini," my Father sighs, making his way over to my bedside. Julie steps out of the way so that he can have full access to wrapping me up in his arms, "I can't believe how old you are. I can't believe I'm going to be a grandfather!"
"Thanks, Dad," I giggle, "I'm glad you're happy."
"So, when's the wedding?" Janet asks, eagerly, seemingly over the tears.
"Woah, woah, woah," I laugh, holding my hand up, "We're not even engaged. What makes you think that we will get married now?"
"Well, I just assumed," Janet sighs, now realizing it wasn't her place, "But Mike, I hate to break it to you, if Mother finds out you're having a child she is not going to be too happy that you haven't married the woman who is bearing it."
"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it," he sighs, looking back to me and leaning over me to gently kiss my lips again, "I'm beyond happy and she should see that for what it is."
"Awe," my Mother swoons and both my brother and Father scoff at her display.
"Plus, if Katherine has any sort of issue with us not being married, that's not her business," I scoff, feeling my anger rise quickly. Michael rubs the back of my hand, assuring me that it's okay, and I take a deep breath, "I love Michael and he loves me," I assert, "If we don't get married before the baby comes, it's not the end of the world."
"Hopefully she'll see it that way," Janet murmurs under her breath, with a comedic look of worry, making Michael and I laugh.
Michael sits at my bedside as the rest of my family, and Janet, start to converse near the end of my bed.
"Now," he begins, taking my hand in his before kissing the back of it, "How 'bout we figure out when I can take my sexy ass fiance home."
"Fiancee? Michael, I'm not-"
Michael gets down on one knee at my beside and pulls a black, velvet box from his pocket. I gasp harshly, causing all eyes to find Michael proposing to me. I hear my Mother gasp and Janet curse, but the other two are silent.
"Jamie," he sighs, opening the ring box to display a massive, silver, princess cut, diamond ring, "As you know, I've been through hell and back with the women who have come in and out of my life. I thought I was done with love after my last relationship, but then you came along and changed my mindset completely."
Tears roll down my cheeks and my hand stays clapped over my mouth.
"I love you so much, and I'm honoured to be the father of your child but would also be honoured to spend the rest of my life with you."
I hear a few sniffles around the room as several tears run down both of my cheeks.
"Jamie Montebella," he pauses, taking a deep breath, "Will you marry me?"
