Fate Is On Our Side

The place was packed with high fashioned people with a glass of expensive wine in hand. The lights are illuminating around the room and it was enough to make the place shine gloriously, but for yongsun, the scene was a dirt in the eyes, blinding her until she can no longer feel watching.

Yongsun kept smiling and bowing and sometimes open her mouth to answer random questions that those rich people bombarded her every time they have time. And because yongsun learned how to be a respectful woman, she kept her expression interested as if she finds their conversation entertaining.

She was bored actually, but the only one who knows is her family since they knew yongsun well. Her father noticed it first but he just ignored yongsun, as always, and proceeds to talk to that beardy old man. But her mother isn't the kind of woman who lets her child get bored. So, her mother walks side by side with her daughter as they had a fun time criticizing bunch of people for their taste of fashion and appearances.

Yongsun's mood lifted and was now happily talking with her mother, drinking the champagne they got from the waiter. She would occasionally wander her eyes and observe her surroundings. Some are minding their business, and some are looking at her. They would even smile when they saw yongsun look back at them which the latter find weird. But she understands them though, her father hides her for years and just introduced her now.. so it's acceptable if they talk about her tonight.

Going back to her mother, she was about to excuse herself to the restroom but someone stood beside them making yongsun look who's that person is. And as their eyes met, she knows she wouldn't like him.

"Oh Mr.Lau, pleasant to see you here tonight. Let me introduce you to my family. This is my precious wife, Sodam. And this is my lovely daughter, Yongsun." Eric introduced his family to the newcomers which the other partylist gladly smiled at them.

The old man bow as a greeting as his son politely smiled at them, or to yongsun particularly. He's been eyeing yongsun since earlier and now that his father has time, he drags him to them to have a little chat, perhaps.

"Pleasure to meet my partners this lovely evening. My son kept bugging me about your daughter, eric. I think he likes to know her more. This is my son, by the way, his name is Henry."

Lau Industries is Starlight's biggest investor. They've been partners for some quite time now. That's why Eric was so thankful for them since they are a big help to their company. And when he heard that henry is interested in her daughter, a smile was automatically plastered on his face, which of course, bothers yongsun to the highest level.

"Oh really? I'm sure my daughter wants to know you more too, henry."

Actually, no. Yongsun thought and rolled her eyes internally.

Yongsun looks at henry and she admits, the guy has some looks. White and flawless skin, charismatic hairstyle, his eyes are also smiling every time he smiles, and looks like an intelligent businessman. But despite the man's looks, yongsun is sure he isn't her type.

Henry kept smiling the whole time since they arrived and yongsun finds it weird. It's not that she's uncomfortable, she's not that fond of extroverted persons. She can definitely figure out he's an extrovert though, just by how he's biting his lips and keeps fidgeting as if he wanted to talk out loud. But since his father and eric are still talking, he stops himself from intruding on their conversation.

"Why don't we leave them for a bit so they can have a little time for themselves.."

Yongsun heard Mr.Lau said and she almost scoffed at it. She's just lucky she stops herself before she'll embarrass her family. Eric looks at his daughter first before he held his wife's hand and grabs her with him.
