The following morning, Yugi telephoned Tea in private in the game shop, while his grandpa was still loudly snoring in bed. His mind was still boggling with the events of the previous day- and night. But it was boggling in a delighted way, and Yugi intended to keep it that way.
"Hello?" came the voice of Yugi's new and first girlfriend.
"Hey, Tea." said Yugi, trying to cover his eagerness to speak to her out of embarrassment.
"Hi, Yugi. How are you?" inquired Tea in a clearly eager tone, contrary to Yugi's efforts.
"I'm brilliant, thank you. And what about you?"
"Wonderful!"
This loving exchange of kind, romantic conversation continued for five or six minutes, though Yugi remained wary of checking whether or not his grandpa was still snoring upstairs, which he was. After a pause from Tea after discussing arrangements for a rendezvous together later that evening, Yugi realised something and his thoughts were interrupted by Tea's sweet voice.
"Are you there, Yugi?"
"Yes" he confirmed, "But we haven't thought of something."
"Oh, what?" asked Tea. She was worried. She hadn't told Yugi that she had also harboured feelings for Atem towards the end of their journey together, and how sad she truly was for his passing on to the Spirit World. She hoped that Yugi hadn't figured this out.
"This new relationship of ours..." said Yugi slowly, "Do we tell Joey, Tristan and the others?"
Tea sighed in relief, but then the question hit her and she once again found concern in her lovestruck soul.
"Oh" she said, "I'm not sure. I mean, would they mind? They might have already figured out how we feel about each other. Oh, who am I kidding? Joey and Tristan wouldn't have a clue. What do you think we should do?"
Yugi pondered over it for a moment and eventually summed up the situation.
"Well, if we tell them, it could affect our friendship bond by having a relationship in it. But if we don't and keep it secret, they may catch us out anyway. After all, they will eventually realise that we're both not around at the same time if we secretly meet for dates and things like that. I think we may as well get it out and see what happens. And Joey and Tristan are our best friends. They wouldn't hate this if it makes us happy."
Tea thought this over and eventually replied.
"I suppose you're right. Even if they are a bit thick in these matters, they are the best of good, loyal friends. Yes, I'm sure that it's better that we tell them about us."
At that moment, Yugi heard footsteps on the stairs and he realised his grandpa was awake. Quickly, he spoke again.
"Okay, let's meet the others at the park later on at 2pm. See you soon, goodbye."
He wanted to say "Love you" to end the phone call, but Yugi was still embarrassed to say it in front of his grandpa, as he had never been in a relationship before. Then, Solomon entered in his clothes for work, but still yawning.
"Soooo-ah" he yawned, "How did it go with young Tea, eh, lover boy?" he interrogated to Yugi.
Yugi froze and blushed once again. He tried to talk his way out of saying anything about Tea.
"Er, gotta unpack from university, grandpa."
He tried to make his getaway back to his room, but he felt a grab on the scruff of his neck and he saw that Solomon had grabbed his shirt collar. He wasn't going to let Yugi get out of this discussion.
