What's going on, my dudes?

It's been about a month, probably even more. I haven't written on Moon of My Life for about a month and a half... yeah. Let me give you an update on that first!

Weirdly enough, I haven't lost my love for Pokémon this time! The reason why I've been away for a while mainly comes from
- Busy schedule
- Mindset

My life has been pretty busy lately. I've done my hardest to produce content for my professional life, so I could potentially gain money in the future. I intend to move countries and get married soon after in about a year, two years max. This means that I have to start gaining more money really, really soon.

So to do that, I've changed my habits and my mindset in general!

While I used to wake up around 10-11 in the past, I now wake up every day at 8:30. When I take a shower, I take a cold one (horrible, I know). I basically work/am productive from 8:30 AM until 8 PM or so. And even after 8 PM, I usually watch podcasts, read, or spend time with my girlfriend.

So that means I barely have time for myself. I don't play videogames anymore, and when I write, I do it for professional purposes.

"So Golf, does this mean you won't be on Wattpad anymore?"

No, it doesn't. I'm still on here at least once every few days, and I do intend to write a bit again in about a month or so. I'll have a month of vacation then, so I will have some more free time. So please be patient, there might be a new chapter around then!

Now, onto the real stuff: the release dates and box arts of BD/SP and Legends: Arceus were published today!

And since I'm a massive gen 4 fan (they were my first games), I deemed it only appropriate that I'd give my opinion on them!

*Disappointment intensifies*
Honestly, I'm not too fussed about the design. Mainly because it almost 100% confirms that we won't be getting new forms for Dialga and Palkia.

The thing is, I don't care about new forms. If anything, for lore purposes, I'd want them to remain the same. But it does give me one more reason to believe that these will be hardcore 1-1 remasters, and not "remakes" as they call them.

"Faithful to the original", a nice way of saying "literally just chibi graphics and nothing else"? I don't know. But for now, it does seem like it. For 15 years now, I've been waiting for these remakes. And now that they're here... I probably won't even buy them on release.

Unless they add new features, I probably won't even buy it. I'll just wait until others play it, and then see if they say it's worth it or not. Because for now, I'm sorry, but I really won't spend 60 heavily-needed euros on a game that I already have (and some might say the superior version, that being Platinum).

So please, GameFreak, add some new features. Add SOMETHING. Even if it's just some Platinum features like the Distortion World and nothing else, I'd take it. If not, then sorry, but you lost one of your most loyal gen 4 fans out there.

(Also, the fact that ILCA and not GameFreak are producing this game really isn't a counterargument. Masuda is still overseeing the development and I'm sure GameFreak knew what they were doing when they handed the project to ILCA.)

HOWEVER

This box art looks so clean!

Why does it look 10000000 times better than the actual game footage?

My boy Lucario is on there, my boy Bidoof... If only Pikachu wouldn't be there, it'd be perfect.

Now, my question is: why is Arceus not on the box art?? It's his game ffs, give Him some credit!

Arceus has been in the shadows of lesser Pokémon all his life, and now that he's finally getting his own game, he's not even on the cover. Yikes.

I wish he'd be flying somewhere in the background, that'd be sick.

Anyways, I really do love the box art of Legends: Arceus.

Also, about its release date: Why is it so early???

As a Marketing student, I'm so pissed off by this.

Think of the average Pokémon player:
A kid/teenager, middle-class. Doesn't have a ton of money to spend, especially not on videogames.

Now, if the games would come out in November (BD/SP) and in, let's say, March-April-May (Legends: Arceus), then maybe that Pokéfan could buy AND BD/SP AND Legends: Arceus!

You get it, GameFreak? That's called marketing. Keep some time in between releasing games, that way people will be hypes for both games, each game can have its time, and people will be more willing to buy both games. That's basic marketing, right? I'm sure you guys, who probably don't study marketing, also know this.

So why doesn't GameFreak's professional marketing team know this? Surely there must be something going on with that, I otherwise can't see why they chose to put it so early.

So basically they gave BD/SP two months of a lifespan. Does that say a lot about the quality of the games?

So let's see: now, instead of buying BD/SP in November and buying Legends: Arceus in April, little... idk... Josh will have to choose: does he buy Diamond, or Legends?

This will reduce their sales so tremendously. Even I am already thinking of potentially only buying Legends, or only buying BD/SP. Maybe even buy neither. And I've been a hardcore Pokéfan for 15 years.

I'm just so surprised, especially because GameFreak is so greed-driven these days. DLC's, expensive games,... even the Mew Pokéball thing was a paywall.

So why they messed up this opportunity to make a ton of money? I have no idea.
