Hungry Heart by Bruce Springsteen

——

Y/N's POV

I start to stir awake as the light from my window creeps its way inside of my room, colliding with my face. I tried to move but I couldn't. I look around my surroundings, finding that Lizzie is still cuddled up next to me. My body instantly woke up, and I could feel my nerves going berserk. My left arm is resting under her neck so I couldn't move even if I wanted to. I didn't mind nonetheless. I began playing with her baby hair, carefully twirling it around my finger. Electricity coursing through my veins, making me feel like I'm on cloud 9.

Every once in a while, Lizzie would fidget slightly, and I couldn't help but smile at her sudden movements. She's adorable when she sleeps and there is no denying the fact that she looks like an angel at this very moment. Her dirty-blonde hair with her mesmerizing facial features, it is doing something to my heart. My mind starts drifting off to my feelings for her and how robust and strong it is. I don't think I'm well aware of the effect that she has on me. Yes, I know I feel something for her, but, I feel as though, in the deepest part of my soul that I crave her. Not lustfully, but passionately. The devotion I have for her, it's truly indescribable.

I didn't realize that I was staring at her so deeply that I didn't even notice that she had gained consciousness.

Lizzie smiles warmly, "good morning stranger."

I smile in return, my emotions going through the roof, "good morning green eyes."

We gaze into each other's eyes, afraid to look away even for a split second. A moment of pure impact. I could see my reflection clearly in those emerald orbs. I falter more and more and I let it happen. She has me wrapped around her fingers and I'm here to do everything in my power to ensure that she's happy.

"I'm hungry." Lizzie pouted, driving my heart crazy. I swear, I'm willing to jump through hells and fire just for her.

I chuckled lightly, "do you want me to make you breakfast?"

Lizzie nodded innocently as she nuzzled her face back into my neck. She tightens her embrace around me, tangling our legs together.

"Liz, I can't make you breakfast if you have me like this." I tried telling her but she tightens her grip further. I couldn't contain my cheeky laugh watching her act so precious.

"Five more minutes please." Lizzie pleads, relaxing herself inside my embrace. "You're so warm and comfortable. I just want to stay here."

"Okay." I said softly, letting myself get comfortable against her body. My hand ran freely against her exposed back, rubbing it back and forth. Lizzie hums as a response, liking the contact.

As time passed by, I didn't stop rubbing her back to make her feel good. Ten five minutes passed by but I didn't mind. I like feeling her get comfortable inside of my embrace. The way her breath would touch my skin, giving me goosebumps. I can't quite explain it, but the feeling is very addicting. It's like my own personal drug.

Lizzie's phone started ringing from my night stand and that sure woke her up. She groaned to herself before pulling away from me. I watched her blindly reach for it before she swiped her phone on.

I could see the sudden change of her demeanor, which I'm assuming she's reading text messages. She seems bothered by what she's reading and it breaks my heart seeing her like this. Lizzie exhaled loudly, violently placing her phone back to my night stand.

"Everything okay?" I asked softly, a little hesitant to even approach her.

Lizzie rubbed her eyes harshly with her fingers, "yeah, I just have some stuff going on that I really don't want to get into."
