A Later Life

Today is 1st September 2015. Today is the day when Violet, my younger daughter boarded the Hogwarts Express fir the first time. My elder daughter, Morja, is a Ravenclaw who set foot in prefects' compartment for the first time!

I bid goodbye to my sweet daughters. Today when I saw Violet's excitement for boarding the train, I recollected myself as an eleven-year old girl on 1st September 1984. I was extremely nervous on that particular day. But now I realise that it is one of my happy memories.

Yesterday Talbott went to France for a mission. He is an Auror. So yes, I, Mridula Winger, a magical historian who has written many books on History Of Magic, am alone in this massive Wingers' House. I had to complete a project on 'More' root causes of Goblin rebellion which has made me exhausted. Suddenly I heard an owl screeching outside my window. When I turned, I saw that it was Fluffy, Morja's pet owl. Fluffy handed me a letter. The letter said,

Dear Mum,

Hope you are keeping well. I wanted to tell you that Violet has been sorted in Hufflepuff!! Same as your house. And another interesting fact....James Sirius Potter(Harry Potter's elder son) is in Violet's year! He has been sorted in Gryffindor.

As Violet is a first year she had to proceed to her common room first. But I as a prefect had the privilege to write a letter in this hour.

As I had promised you earlier that I will perform my duties properly, I am doing that.

Take care of yourself. I hope Dad returns as soon as his mission is over in France.

Lots of love from your daughter,

Morja.

I smiled when I finished reading the letter. I fed owl food to Fluffy and bid him goodbye. This letter reminded me of  my time at Hogwarts which was from 1984 to 1991. These years are special for all witches and wizards who have graduated from Hogwarts. This is the place where I made friends, excelled in History Of Magic and most importantly, met my husband.

As I recollected these memories, I thought why not write it down instead of writing essays on Goblin Rebellion!

I took out my all time favourite picture of Talbott(which was shot from a muggle camera and in 1980s picture shot from a muggle camera used to be in black and white) and said-"What A Later Life, My Dear Winger!"
