Kalpana  paid  the   call  Taxi  driver   ,,before  going  into  the  house   ,,her  mother  had  earlier  gone  in to  the  house  to  prepare  the  aarti  tray.......to   wellcome  Mohan  Shetty  back  home.......the  arti  tray  is  to  ward  off  illness  and  bad  vibe
and  to cleanse   the  person  who  has  gone  through
misfortune or ill health......Mohan shetty  was  glad to  be  home....
Deepak  cleared  out   some  one  his  things  from   his  parents  room   so  that   His  father  could  move  a  bit  freely.....what  can  anyone  expect  from  a  small   house..
kalpana  slept  for  a  few  hours...she  needed  the  sleep badly....it  was almost  close  to  midnight  when  her  grandfather  called  from  Indonesia......Kalpana  related  her  experience   regarding  the  delayed  flight   and  also  told  him  about  her  father,,who  was  recuperating well....Mahesa  Bahadur  was  glad  everything  was  going  to  be  good,,,he  was   in touch  with  his  friends in  India   to  secure  a  job  for  kalpana  in  India.......kalpana was  happy,,her  father  was  out  of  danger.she  would  go  for  an  interview  soon    and    start saving  to  pay  krishna  Bahadur     back.
while  waiting  kalpana   for  any  job  interview..kalpana  helped  her  mother  make   dressess....per  order.....
Deepak  came  home  excited   that    evening
'Deepak..'    you  look  so  happy''    Kalpana  wanted  to  know  ..because  for  the  first  time  in  two  months  ...with  their  father  getting  better.....Deepak  seemed    happy
''well   didi.....''Began  Deepak.'  i  met  this  gorgeous  girl  today  and  i  think  we  are  going  to  a  couple'' he  said  gleefully  like  a  small  boy   who  was  given  lollipop,,
''What.!  you  met  a  girl  today  and  you  feel  she  is  going  to  be  your  special  girl ''  isn't  it  way  too soon  to  decide on this  Deepak...Give  it time  ,,,now  tell  me  about  her...;;Kalpana insisted    
she  is  our  new   IT  programmer...she  is  23..  from   kilpauk..her  father  owns a  fashion  and  gift  store.her  elder  sister  is  a  nurse....she  like  magenta ...she  loves  dosa  and   mango  salad....../Deepak  raved on  ...Kalpana  was  giggling   her  heart  out
''wow  little  bhai.......you  have  so  much  of  knowledge  about  a new  comer..........go  easy...don.'t  frighten  her off
advised  kalpana  and   left  him  to  get  her   college  certs and  work experience  papers  ready   in  case   she  was  called  for  an interview..and  just as  she  was  about  to  go  to  bed..her  phone  rang......she  answered  the  call ..it  was  sanjay..' ''  leave  me  alone  Sanjay...'' Kalpana  switched  her  phone  off   and  settled in  bed   ..she  woke up  startled  by  noises  near  her  window.....she  got  out  of  bed  when   someone  closed  her  mouth..kalpana  struggled  and  hit  that  person...It  was  Sanjay..he  pushed  her  back  to  the  bed   and  laughed  at  her puny  strength......' I  want  You  Kalpana......''...no  matter  what'' he  grabbed  a lock  of  her  hair  and  jerked  her  backward..exposing  her  slender  neck.....his  breath  reeked  of   alchohol...''he  lowered  himself  to  her  ..kalpana   fought  back...scratching  her  with  her finger nails...''  i am  going  to  rape  you  and  no  one  will hear  you''he  grabbed  her  shawl  and   tied  her  mouth..kalpana  kicked    and scratched  but   he  was  an animal
a  loud   thud   ..all of  a sudden   made  kalpana  alert.''' Deepak  had  hit  Sanjay  with  a  vase.....and  cursing  obscenities  at  Sanjay...he  kept  hitting    him,,,,,
did  he''......Deepak   tried  hard  to  get  the  words  out  of  his  mouth....'
kalpana    shook  her  head....in  tears....
Deepak  hit  him  again.....but  Kalpana  stopped  her  brother
no  no  Deepak......dont  kill  him   please......i  don't  want  you  to   go  to  jail  for  murder  please  kalpana  cried
Deepak   kicked  Sanjay  who  was  groaning  in  pain,,somehow   Sanjay  got  to  his  feet  and  rushed  to  the  window  he  had  come  in  through  and   staggering   with  blood  trickling  down  his  head ,,,managed  to  jump  out  ..Deepak   hugged  his  sister  comfortingly....and  made  her  sit  on   the  bed..
Shhhh.....Didi.....he  won't  come  near  you  again........Kalpana  cried  ''  you  are  safe  now...don't  tell  mum  and  dad  about  this.....Deepak  said  quietly.......dad  is  getting   better.......we  don't  want  him  and  mum   stressed  out
Deepak   got  a  small wet  towel  and  wiped  kalpana's  face.....and  sat  with  her  the  whole  night  just holding  her
in  the morning  kalpana  appeared  as  calm  as possible.....she  put  on  a  happy  face.....though  she  cringed  at  the  thoughts  of  that  monster who  almost  destroyed  her....Deepak  felt  her  fear  and  gently  laid  his  hand  on  hers  aasuringly.....and  she  felt  better.......
keep  youself occupied     didi...i  will  be  back  in  the  evening
''Deepak  said  to  kalpana  and  left  for  work
kalpana  kept  herself  busy  .....helping  her mother
later  in  the  afternoon....Shalini  confronted'  Kalpana

surekha   said  she  saw    a  man   jumping  out  of  your  window  last  night''
kalpana  nearly  dropped    the  glass  she  was  holding
''ma......kalpana  forced  a  smile  on  her  lips...the  whole  town  knows  Surekhaa  is  a  liar  and  loves  to  cook  up  fantasy  stories  to  draw  attention........
kalpana  brushed  aside   her mother's  thoughts  and   carried  on  her  work
her  mother  laughed   ''ya  that  old  crock  loves  spinning  tales......
Giving  a sigh  of  relief    .....kalpana   walked  to  her  room  casually   and  then   flopped  on  to  her  bed  and  cried  and  only  the  she  noticed   blood  stains  on  her  window sill....hurriedly  she  wiped  clean   the  window  and   checked  her  whole  room  thrice   for  any  sign  of  Sanjay's  evil   ways
Deepak  arrived   late  in  the  evening    with  a sheepish  look  on  his  face.kalpana  could  see  a  girl  behind  him  in  a  sweet  baby  pink  churidar...and    she  was  beautiful  ,,
''hi  auntie;;  i  am  sheetal  kanna  ...her  voice   so  soft   ....she  gave  a sweet  smile  to  kalpana  ..who   gave  Deepak  a  teasing  look.....
come  in  dear  ''  Shalini  invited...and  they  all went  in . Sheetal  met  Mohan sheety  ,he  seemed  delighted in  this  soft  spoken  girl..and  winked  at  Deepak    ..who  was  all smiles..
Kalpna   agreed    with  Deepak.....this  girl   was  going  to  be  family  after all...she  was  so happy    for  Deepak
after   dinner  Deepak  sent  Sheetal   home....and  returned   back home  and  went  straight  to    Kalpana's   room  and  secured  the  window   and  even  installed   tiny  barbed  wires    to  keep  his  sister  safe.......
kalpana  slept  very  badly  that  night  as  her  thoughts  creeped  back  to the  night  before......a  silent  tears  rolled  down   her  cheek........when  was  everthing  really  going  to  be  allright...she  closed  her  eyes...
